lcd tv leds read more

well the other dayi went to a buddys house i havent seen in forever we were chit chatting for a bit then i noticed his tv its was a phillps lcd tv
well while his ps3 was playing a movie the back of the tv lit up with leds im assuming 
not only that but when the image from the movie changed so did the colors
so say a scene was on that had fire for instance the leds turned red and say the next scene there was water the leds turned blue
 
i was quite amazed anyone else seen this ?

yes. Check rodents last post on the new xbox in the news. I was comming to make a post about it but Tracy had beaten me to it. I dont think what you seen is the same but a very similar idea

It was an Ambilight TV (Phillips) , they were the greatest tv's ever imo..unfortunately they stopped making them.

Thats neat Rodent, but still nothing like Ambilight.. like scenes when someone is in a dark place and using a flashlight, the ambilight moves with the flashlight around your walls.  Man I wish they still made those dang tv's.
