well guys to bring something new to the forum
last night 5/31/2012 i went to a buddys house to go hang out shoot the
if you will
after a few hrs of drinking surprised? lol i noticed my buddy had a macbook pro 13 in retina display since im a sucker for hi end toys
i asked him about it he ended up telling me that his gf bought it for him at best buy for school but ended up paying her back for it
but after a nasty fight they ended up parting ways...prob like 3do wtf is the point of this
well on his macbook his gf had her icloud account attached to it..if your still like wtf and?
well if your a mac user you know that icloud has the ability to lock a macbook mac mini imac etc if its ever stolen lost etc
so his ex gf ended up locking the mbp smh
he ended up taking it to apple they said she reported it stolen but oddly enough they said we can swap mobos for 400$ crazy i know
after all that i got kinda dizzy but my buddy ended up giving me the mbp he said if you can fix it keep it you've helped me alot if you cant sell it off for parts
so here i am and not sleeping ive read that any type of security measures so to speak is stored on a chip on the mobo so basically in a nutshell theres no way around this without reprogramming the chip basically the EFI firmware for macs once this is achieved the macbook will be cleaned of any password security locks etc
after some more reading found out that they use attiny series chips which can be reprogrammed
maybe flash a fresh firmware ?
also found out you can do a full hardware reset using a pic programmer
anyone have any exp with this?
