Xbox One 2.5mm Headset Adapter Mod - Coolshrimp
« on: March 23, 2014, 05:42:53 PM »
I modified my headset adapter so I can use any headset...
Now compatible with my turtle beach.

Headset jack was taken from an old Xbox 360 controller.

Nice work. I myself did this mod when these pucks came out. The only crappy deal with all of this is u Dont get sterio sound in chat or be able to change chat volume.

I like what light of Jesus did by adding a bluetooth dongle to his puck. The new sterio pucks now come with 2.5 mm headphone jack. It would be cool to see a Bluetooth dongle added to the new sterio headset pucks!

Dont get my statements wrong  I'm with ya, I myself Dont want to spend 25$ to buy the new pucks even though they are built for sterio chat capabilities and obsolete this mod!

I think it would be cool if someone did a Bluetooth installation tutorial with these new sterio pucks! That would give even more flexibility to having a wireless headset setup.

All in all good work. Its sleek and clean looking. I like what u did.

Thanks and it wouldn't really be stereo anyways on most headsets my turtle beach is still 3pin jack witch is (Ground, Mic, Speaker)
Also i control chat volume just fine with the buttons on the puck. and also my inline volume control on turtle beach cable.

so left and right are just getting the same sound.

If you used this same puck and change out for a 4pin jack then u can get stereo sound (Ground, Mic, Left,Right) like iPhone Headphones.
In the pictures u can see there is 4 Solder Pads.. (Ground, Mic , Headset Left, Headset Right)

And again it would not matter as person on the other end is using a mic in mono so again its not stereo.

For Bluetooth all you really need is the small transmitter.
