Xbox 360 finally I took it apart, need some advice

Well, finally my xbox 360 is out of warranty, and I took it apart. Turns out I have a Corona V3, and the drive is a 16D5S. I figure the new Coolrunner 4 XL will be a good modchip for it. Dont know yet if that needs a post fix or not, though I would assume so.
If the machine is RGHd, do you still need to modify the drive? Or can you just run games from an external USB harddrive?
Also, what is the best dual nand device for this machine?

If you want to install RGH you don't need to flash the dvd drive. For dualnand you can use matrix trident or squirt dualnand pcb for example. Another option would be demon of TX

this console can only be rghed not dual nand! its a 4gb model and dual nand can only be done on 16mb trinity and 16mb corona slims , jaspers and falcons but boot times you will have to get it right to work

Its not a 4GB version, it is the Corona V3 with 250GB harddrive as far as I can tell. It came with 250 GB harddrive at least, and not some 4GB storage.

then you should be able to dual nand it you will need to add  a adaptor for the dual nand  and use a cr3 lite to dual nand the console along with a  demon  dual nand chip

Great, I just need to find a seller that has a good kit with CR3 lite, QSB, Post Out fixer,a nd programmer.

Hmm, without dual nand, it will be impossible to use the console on xbox live I assume, since you flash the nand with alternative firmware?

that is correct. you need to use a dual nand device(TX Demon, Squirt Dual Nand Pcb, etc..) if you want to use xbox live and RGh on the same system. But not together at the same time.

Got hold of a Slim Proto V2, a J-R Programmer, and now have a RGH2 console
Its sweet.

Now I just need to figure out how to setup emulators and media player software
