I got shocked a third time trying to assemble it onto a plexi-glass base for the final design.

When I tested it I laid my hand on top of the capacitors; touching the exposed metal part that shocked me.

I'mma BeeF this up to something more powerful that welds with some actual 1/8" DIA welding rods.

For the record everyone don't try and weld galvanized steel, it will kill you... days later.

I just made one out of a Scrap Piece of Plexi Glass a sharpie and some packing tape.

I Layered Sharpie on the plexi glass and put tape on it, put sharpie on the tape and put another layer of tape over it and colored that layer with sharpie for about 15 layers.

I can't mount my camera very well because i have to hold my make-shift welding tip made from lead-free plumber's solder and a 5 minute DIY welding mask!

Also I will try to make this into an Actual Piece of equipment since everything works so well. So far i nearly joined two aluminum heat sinks together with copper pipe solder!!! But it broke off the minute it cooled </sadface>

Dang that is so awesome though....you should just go out and buy a couple welding rods.  Hmm your next project should be a mig welder with some oxyacetylene lol that would be awesome.  Get a mini hi pressure tank with some oxyacetylene.  Or you should make a homemade plasma cutter.  Ok im getting carried away :w00t:

A High Current Fly-Back-Transformer and a few switching transistors. Hells yeah.

SCHEMATIC --

Hi
sorry to revice this topic.
I was looking for a week or two now, and i finally find something that i would like to build with 12v.

the problem is, can you tell me the list for parts?
i'm trying to look for those part, but i can't get the same as your pic.

i'm not an expert, but i can do well with label on schematic...

thx
and sorry again.

Just going to say this... if you can't figure out the specs for parts you need... you probably don't understand the risks involved with building this.

Ratings on the schematic are ridiculous just so people actually don't try it.

The capacitors were rated at 400 Volts, each are 1000uF.
The diodes were some "medium power" rectifier diodes, $5 a piece I think. Something that can handle [12 Volts @ 8 Amps Continuous] or a maximum of [1000 Volts @ 10mA momentarily]

This circuit resembles a basic TIG welder FYI.

thx alot for your quick answer.

no, i never learn TIG welder or any basic welder.

I just learn the basic electronic. but i do like to diy stuff. I did built ac arc welder from transformer microwave oven, it just too strong and too big for my need. i did try the spot welder...

i just need something for small project and least space.

thx again,
