JDM-020: X point
« on: September 14, 2015, 04:39:46 PM »
Guys, sorry my abd english cause im brazilian. I got this image from here. PCB Sacn of JDM-020:

Can you guys show me where is X point on the BOTTOM of PCB????
The main topic only show X and O points on the TOP of the PCB. But I miss the point on the BOTTOM of PCB JDM-020.
I know is ONE OF THIS 4 points on the RED CIRCLE...not sure wich is!

GUys, I think I "destroy" the vias trying to remove the glue from older solder.
If I sold on ANOTHER X POINT... it will work????

Most likely not. It all depends on how bad the damage is and where it is.

Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

RDC, the original X button is NOT working anymore, and I tried do Solder on the bottom and not works.
Should I try to solder on the TOP of PCB or is just waste of time???
I think I :censored:ed up my controller...X button dont work....

I will try to explain with this image.
The orange place is scratched and hard to see. If I try to solder on the RED paint, ALONG THE VIA...is it works???

The only way that you are going to fix that now is to jumper the bottom spot that is still good to the top spot at the MCU.

If you have messed up the O spot that I have already shown, then that O buttons is pretty much gone for good, as there is no other spot. From there it goes into a middle layer an then to an inner BGA connection of the MCU, so you can not get to it at all. The only hope you would have would be that some of the via is still left and you could solder to that, but if you are messing up the vias, then that's not going to happen either.

Get yourself a newer controller that has the JDM-030 version board, and then the Simple Flex boards I designed for it, so you do not have to solder 1 thing onto the controller. ;)
