1698 (elite v1) PCB issue
« on: August 04, 2020, 03:12:21 PM »
Hi there, I was replacing the analogs on one of these, but due to my lack of experience (only fixed one elite before) messed it up.
Upon inspection I saw I removed D27 by mistake, which causes the stick to be always 100% left.

Now what I need help with is if there is any of these D27 on 1708 boards, since I have spare ones I could salvage it from.
Else I would like to know the part ID so I can get one anywhere.

Thank you.

It will work perfectly fine with D27 missing. Make sure all of it is removed though, as any bits of it left over on there could be shorting and causing the all left issue. Also make sure that C25 is not shorted or has some solder splash on it causing a short.

If all that's good and it's still going full left, make sure there is 1.8v on the left POT lead, looking at the board from the bottom. If that voltage isn't there that would also cause it to go 100% full left.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
