RT LT not working ?
« on: October 13, 2020, 11:36:45 AM »
Please could someone help? Rt and LT not registering on 1798 controller I bought second hand, I?ve updated it but that?s not done the trick either . Any ideas what it could be please ? Not yet checked the magnets but it would be unlikely they have both moved at the same time id have thought . Thank you in advance for any advice

Do you mean a 1698? or the 1797? If it's really a 1798 then it's new to me.

If you were not the first one in there, then all bets are off as to what may or may not be the issue with that thing.

Magnets could both be in backwards.

If it's a 1698..
Make sure R38 is on the MCU board (top side left edge)
Make sure U9, R37, R41, C32, C34, C35 are on the MCU board (bottom right) and there is no PCB damage around there.

Bottom of the MCU board, right side, check R38, R40, U9 and make sure C3, C32 and C35 are not shorted.
