(Solved) Sony Back button attachment - left button not working

EDIT: Turns out i'm an idiot, had a line being shorted to ground. Cleaned up my solder and it's working again.

I have an original sony back button attachment. I was doing some science with it and the left button no longer works. I've tried replacing the switch and shorting the left -> GND directly and it doesn't trigger. I also noticed that measuring continuity from right side GND to the GND testpoint shows nothing, but from the left GND to the GND testpoint shows a dead short. Any ideas if it's fixable? other things to check?
