1708 no power due to MCU board
« on: November 19, 2022, 01:14:53 PM »
Hello,

I have a 1708 controller which doesn't power-up when the guide button is pressed. I checked and everything is fine with the button/power board, and when I replace the MCU board with another one it works fine. So, the problem is with the MCU board. Does any of you have a hint on where to start? Thank you!

Inject 3.3v into that MCU board on the 3.3v rail and see what gets hot first. If it's a Cap, remove it, then try it with the top board again.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

Thank you! I'll look at the schematics and find the 3.3v rail and try!
