XBOX Series Controller 1914 - buzzing noise - No power
« on: March 23, 2024, 02:12:13 PM »
Hi Everyone, wonder if anyone can help me, I?ve got a series controller 1914, it makes a buzzing sound when it?s connected to usb, no power at all will not power on, I have taken it apart and I can get it to turn on when I remove the top antenna cable from the SOC board, but I cannot figure out what is causing (I?m assuming it?s a short along the antenna rail) it, I?ve checked the surrounding caps on the rail but can?t find anything out of the ordinary, anyone had this before?

Something in the RF circuit has probably gone bad, one of the RF Transformers, or it could be in the MCU. You'll have to replace them with parts from another controller.

Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

Yeah, i'm 100% sure it's related to SOC board, done a few readings and the bottom antenna port shorts between the centre pin and the outer side where as the top one (no short but when antenna is connected to this one, the controller will NOT power on, but powers on when the bottom antenna is connected, strange)

Hello, I have the same problem. I also have an Xbox Elite 2 controller, and I tried swapping parts from the working controller to the broken one, but it still doesn?t work. I replaced the battery, but that didn?t help. I also tried swapping the RF antenna cables, the two thin black ones that connect to J2, but that didn?t work either. Even when I connect the two black cables, nothing happens. I only get a buzzing sound from the controller, both when charging and when I press the power button. Please help. : (
