Strange microphone behavior on the BDM-010
« on: April 08, 2025, 06:11:40 AM »
Strange microphone behavior in BDM-010 (DualSense controller).
When testing with a microphone using a long ribbon cable, the PC test completes successfully and records audio.
However, when additionally connecting a microphone with a short ribbon cable, no audio is captured.
I can only verify this behavior on PC, as I don't have the capability to test on the console.
I've tested 3 different microphones with short ribbon cables, all with identical results.

Additional questions:

1) Can a microphone with a short ribbon cable be connected to the long ribbon cable's port for testing purposes?

2) What methods exist for testing these microphones using a multimeter?

3) Is a short-ribbon-cable microphone required for proper microphone functionality in the DualSense controller on PS5?
