Xbox One S 1708 MCU SOC gradually overheating
« on: August 19, 2025, 12:14:31 AM »
This is quite concerning for me, my controller 1708 is working normally, buttons, rumble, impulse, headphone port, bluetooth, wireless connection, all good. But it suddenly heats up, gradually that I can feel it while playing games. This has never happened before and I know this is not normal. Even my batteries are hot too.
I have 3 sets of batteries, eneloop, energizer and Duracell. Still does the same thing.

Tried using usb cable without batteries, still overheats.
Tried wireless adapter and bluetooth. Updated the firmware. Overheats
I noticed that when I leave it until it disconnected and turned off it keeps heating up. But If I remove the batteries and put it back without turning on it does nothing.

I think the part was the SOC board. The one with metal shielding.

So... is this fixable?
Or is it dying?  :cry2:
