These Jigsticks (Pandora's Battery) Can't be blocked via firmware updates.

Answer
Yes it currently works on all 1st and 3rd Party Batteries.
(3rd party have seemed to work, if any are reported not working this will be updated)


WINDOWS XP (NOT WORKING ON VISTA)

How do i format using mspformat.exe?

Answer
Copy mspformat.exe to C:

Click Start > Run > Type CMD | Command Prompt will now come up.

Type cd C:\
then mspformat.exe X

What are Nand Backups saved as?

Answer
They are saved as nand-dump.bin, if you want to restore it needs to be renamed to nandimage.flash

There might be updates if bugs are found.

No they are not supported, Please try something higher
(Ideally 256mb)

Yes but if you want to get rid of the IPL, Format it in your PSP, The PC will preserve that data....

ANY PSP can be recovered even if it has a corrupted IPL or the idstorage is destroyed.

Yes, Here is what you need to do:

Turn PSP on with Power Cable plugged in but the Jigstick (Pandora's Battery) and the Magic Memory stick out.

Once you are in the XMB put both of them in. Under GAME execute the Pandora's Battery Creator not the Firmware Installer. In the Menu, press [ ] (The Square Button).

Nice FAQ =D, you should also add that the batteries can be turned by to normal again by running the battery eboot. A lot of people are asking about that. But once again Nice tut.

You need a custom firmware PSP to make the jigstick, then use the jigstick on the 3.51. Then yeah after you downgrade to 1.5, you can upgrade to an OE.

can some1 help with the msinst? i cant get it to open msipl.bin for some reason.

command: desktop\msinst g msipl.bin

action:PSP MS IPL installer
          Load ipl code msipl.bin
          cant open msipl.bin

the generated msipl file is 236 kb.

attempted on a 1.5 w/ xp and vista but get the same message everytime. what the heck am i doin wrong?

When you're doing it, did you set the directory in CMD to the where msinst is?

As far as I know it only works on XP =\ But that's what I did and it worked...So now I'm not sure what's really wrong =\

k i read: - The IDStorage cannot be totally restored, as there is no known way

so if a psp has that damaged is the psp really unrecoverable bricked?

does that happen when you mess up the idstorage patching?

what are the chances of that happening? is it hard or normal?

if it isn't totally restored but done partially what happens?

(maybe i need to first understand idstorage a bit more)

I recently received an official Sony PSP-110 battery (the original fat PSP battery), as new from Amazon.  It seems to be a completely genuine Sony part, but it can't be successfully converted to Pandora - the battery creator shows lots of errors, even when flashing an EEPROM image from an older Sony battery.

The only difference from the older battery is that the old battery was made in China, the new battery is made in Japan.

It wouldn't be surprising for Sony to have patched their batteries so that they're Pandora-proof.  If this is true, then it still shouldn't be a big problem - I'd recommend buying a new, large capacity battery to use as a regular battery, and using the original battery that came with your PSP for Pandora.  And of course, you can always use Booster's multi-IPL loader to use your Pandora battery as your primary battery, if you want.  Just don't go buying new Sony batteries for use with Pandora
