Nope, those aren't the right ones - they're for the phat. And sorry about giving you the link for dealextreme. Turns out they only have phat ones. Coolmods, an official sponsor of AcidMods, does have psp slim clear buttons though. Unfortunately, it might set you back 15-20 bucks for just a set of buttons. For the analog, if you're using it to do this mod, then it's in the original post, but I'll give it to you again. If you're looking for one to replace your existing slim analog, then unfortunately, I can't find one.

The Analogs at DX are so cheap couldn't you just get one for a Phat and one for a slim and swap out the parts to make a clear or at least semi-clear slim?

Just wanted to make sure

Acidmods did trademark DualNub right?

If not, then its illegal to have the trademark logo because you never paid the trademark fees

If it is trademarked though, no worrys :)

Wow, most people here could have done that in 5 minutes no offense.

Have you actually installed one in a slim?

It's obvious Razor X made by AM, everyone should know about it..

It's on Slim, I've never done this on 1000 family..

Yeah but still they need to trademark it, otherwise acidmods could even be sued for the little trademark symbol in its name

Trust me, i almost got sued for using the sign in my name just on MSN, people that didnt have anything to do with any type of phenomenal designs got pissed at me

Id advise so acidmods doesnt get into any legal trouble to make it just DualNub or Razor X so acidmods doesnt get taken down

Believe me, lawyers, entrepeuners etc (basically anybody that will have a lot of sueing) will grab any chance to get lots of money, right now this is just like a baby with a sweet, a bigger kid is likely to just snatch it off

I got a question so then the other analog will only press the /\, [], O, X buttons? I though it would work as a ps2 control or an xbox controller were the sencond analog is for view movement.

Well the 2nd analog replaces those  /\, [], O, X buttons and those buttons are typically used for viewing in fps.

Well done for actually using some originality and brain-power to solve a problem!

123sample for R&D!

Your image walkthroughs are actually quite nice, now I think about it..

Make a complete one for the whole install, and it will own anything out there!

DANM its a tight ass fit.
I've been working on this for about a day so far and I just got all of it to fit inside the PSP slim. The case is bulging a little and I still have to do the wiring, but I'll fix those problems in a few days (damn work getting in the way of things...)

BUT IT CAN BE DONE!
A lot of trial and error to get things to fit, but its not impossible!

Yeah, I'll take some pix right now,
its not DONE, so its still a work in progress,
no wires, no spring in the nub and still have to fix a little bulging.

1 sec, stay up 10 more min and I'll have pix of my work in progress.

sorta wondering if sample did it

Yeah, I'm kinda hesitating a little with the wiring. I can do it, but its just a big problem if I mess up.

I was kinda wondering the same, and trust me the thought did cross my mind a few times.

You can get the width right but I still haven't seem to get the height right, yet. Somehow I need to pull about 2 cm off the top of the to make it fit right.

I think can get the 2 cm from taking more off the bottom of the AC plug and cutting the case a little more but then I would have a 2 cm gap on top.
idk yet, I'm going to think about it some more and maybe 123sample explain a little more clearly.

I'm having troubles fitting it all, I got the width, but some how I need to cut about 2 cm off the top to make it all fit.

Nice tut good work.. you guys know that you can remove the power charger plug and wire up the USB port for usb charging even when your PSP is off.. you could even mod the charger so that it would have the USB end... This way you have more room in the PSP to work with..

But I like what you have done here real nice!!!

Unless you get one off a member here. Make a post in the auctions section, and somebody may be willing to let go of one. Remember to accept rules though.

Hi guys, Is me again. I got the PSP slim and trying to add the second analog. I invested about 5 hours of my life trying to put together the analog with the little loving spring. >=(
Well now the problem is I found the tutorial for the slim, just that how am I gonna solder the cables to the small points in the power board. T_T
Is there any way to install the second analog without removing the AC power jack?

If you have any tips for soldering the razor x please let me know. I would really appreciate.
Title: Re: Installing DualNub™ Lite'n Easy + Demo
Post by: kemolagger on April 11, 2009, 09:06:33 AM
I'm sure that all you have to do for the power jack is just to file it down a little bit as long as you are using the razor X kit.  If you're using the razor 1 or 2, then you'll have to relocate the power jack and power board.  Be EXTREMELY careful when you try to solder the wires to the motherboard, if you mess up that ZIF connector, your out 80$ to replace it!(entire mobo)

Hello.
I have ice silver psp slim.
Can I use slim grey analog ? - like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10794 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10794)
Can I do it without remove power board or yellow power socket ?
I can crop yellow power socket, analog or something.

Thanks for a reply.
Sorry for my bad English,

Hi

I haven't try slim analog yet, here in this tutorial, I'm using 1000 Family analog

Oh yes you can do it, but it takes time to exactly fit in,
but others said it will be easier if you remove yellow power socket, and do USB Charge mod,
so you will have a lot more space to work,

It's actually depends on you, how would you make it, it's all on your own, as long as you know the basic theory above

Looking forward to see it, Sugoi!!!  :yess:

I shoul do this to my PSP slim, but there is just on thing i want to do, while playing monster hunter Portable you use the D-Pad to look around, an the i came up with this electric scheme:

(i know it's crappy but i'll update it making it better)

i don't know the wiring of the PSP so i also need to know where to put the wires.

does this work for psp-2001?

can you explain the part about tinning the razor-x board?

where do i find the place where i am supposed to soldier the wires on the psp?

and how am i supposed to arrange the wires on the razor-x (where on the board am i supposed to attach them)?

Thanks a lot!!

This works in 1000, 2000, 3000.

First, find the corect xo/\[] points,

Cables are messy if you didnt manage em well,
Crop unecessary parts on psp shell, try fit em and
Arrange whiich one suits you.

Remember dualNub isnt the only mod you can do,

There are plenty more mods to go, and they require
Lots of space in your machine, therefore you should
Arrange spot and cables wisely.

What it means to tin the the raxor which is a pcb board specially made for the nub as you can see on the first post. The tinning is simple you just apply solder to the copper part of the razor and thats it. As for the spots to solder it shows it at the bottom just go over it few times or look at other post that apply to this.
