OK so what I'm doing with my wii is:
- change the slot illumination to purple colored (HELP ME! WHAT KIND OF LEDS ARE THEY?)
- add pulseVU2 ~(DONE)~
- change wii console, wiimote and nunchuck cases replacement to black ~(DONE)~
- wiimote red led replacement ~(DONE)~
- change the color of the nunchuk attachment cord to black maybe by dye (may not be possible)
- add a jewel to the side of the wii (waiting on TimmyDX)
- get el-wire installed (need a 3.3 or around there driver/inverter, but can't find one)
So here's what my wii currently looks like:

I still need help with some of the stuff above so please help me out meanwhile.
What kind of leds are these? I want to swap them with purple but I don't know what type they are.

Thanks.

why not make the wave bird internal? whats the point of moving it if it just in the way more, plus its way more easy then your plan :dntknw: :dntknw:
-
because of the way my entertainment area is set up, when i actually do want to use wired controllers such as dance pads i cant reach the plug. and i dont want the wii standing up because there isnt enough room for that either. haveing this way my gamecube port is also portable and my actual wii doesnt have a bunch of switches sticking out.
-
have you seen this? Is this where you got your idea from?

no actually i was just talking to my friend one day and we came up with the idea because we almost pushed my wii off the table trying to reach the gamecube port. but this site should help me build the case for my design tho. thanks. but this guy used wood to build his case. im trying to find a way to make the case with plastic. if all fails i guess i'll have to use wood.
-
To move the ports just desolder everything off the motherboard and add long wires connecting it again. To make the wavebirds internal, you won't be able to use wired anymore. But to do it, just take the casing off of the receiver and solder the corresponding leads into the the points on the gcn port.
-
i have four gamecube controller extension cables, which will plug directly in to the wii and the extra cable will stay in the gamecube port case. or i can take apart a gamecube i have and use those parts. and is there absolutely no way to make the internal wavewird work and the gamecube controller at the same time? i wanna do something like this except have four receivers in the port and not the in wii. because the hole point of the port is to keep the wii clean, while using the space i have in my room in a accessible way. http://www.modpulse.com/articles/console-mods/wii-internal-wavebird-receiver-mod/ (http://www.modpulse.com/articles/console-mods/wii-internal-wavebird-receiver-mod/)
-
maybe you should get two gamecube extension cords and splice them in half and put the two input ends (where you hook up the controllers) to one output end (where you put into the wii) and have a switch you could switch between wavebird and gamecube.
-
This way you could have it without voiding your warranty.
-
dslitemodder i dont exactly understand what ur suggesting. am i going to use two extensions for one controller? and mattzani i've already ruined my warranty and im also adding pulsevu2 so im not too concerned about that
-
I mean the add one part, If it was just controller and Memory Card ports, it could be fitted without voiding your warranty!
-
yea, and also i wont have this portable port portable anymore if i had wires coming out from the wii into the port. btw does any1 have a gamecube microphone (or two) that i can have or buy for cheap? i need to see if i can use two of those to extend the memory card slot.
-

I'm saying you have one extension for TWO controllers that way you could have your wavebird and a regular controller as well (just make sure you have a switch you can change controllers)
-
yea thats what i was thinking, but that means i have to rip open the extension cords, and then add a switch. doesnt that mean the switch must be a 3 legged one? and i only need one of the wires from each part right? of course the same one. like blue wire for all of them on the switch.
-
I don't know much about wiring I just provide the ideas. Maybe somebody here can...
-
ok thanks. and i still need to find out how to do that and add the player indicator leds to turn on only when the controller is connected.
-
make sure power goes to one cable at a time and that should do it
-
ok i'll start this project in a week and a bit, trying to find out if its all possible first, plus i don't have all the materials. i really need a gamecube microphone! please, any1 who doesnt use theirs, donate/sell for cheap to me! also where can i get the screwdriver for the gamecube cheap?
-
For the Tri-wing screwdriver the one that's shaped like a Y, go to dealextreme.com they have them for like 2 dollars shipped. The only thing is that it might take two weeks to get to your house because they ship from China.
-
its not the tri-wing, cuz i already mod my dses and wii, but i need parts from the gamecube. i think i need a bit piece, a gamebit or sumthing. where can i get a gamebit?
-
try dealextreme.com they have them there
-
all i can find r tri-wings on this site. which i already have.the tri-wing doesnt open up gamecubes. i need something else, i hear its called a gamebit.
-
Ok uhm lhttp://store.richspsxparts.com/4gacugabit.htm (http://store.richspsxparts.com/4gacugabit.htm) there u shud find your gamecube bit!
-
thanks pinoyballa. holy only the bit costs that much?! :fear: i think it's cheaper on ebay because it comes with a screwdriver as well.
-
probably, Ebay is your bestfriend for some of this stuff, because mainly stuff like that comes from China and they sell cheap! :victory:
-
yea, but the stores r in us / canada so they will still arrive fairly quickly.
EDIT: I have a question, is it possible to hook up some El-Wire to the wii on a pulsevu2? I wanna have a ring of El-Wire for the dvd drive, and a ring for my jewel.
-
sorry for the double post but I have a question, is it possible to hook up some El-Wire to the wii on a pulsevu2? I wanna have a ring of El-Wire for the dvd drive, and a ring for my jewel.
-
Umm i'm not to sure i that but i kind of don't think you will be able too. And just edit your post next time. i already fixed it for you though.
-
thanks, yea i didn't think i could hook up el-wire either, but im jus wondering. cuz i think people have hooked them up to ps2s and xboxes.
-
they have them hooked up without the pulse chips, you could probably hook it up to the wii without the pulse chips on it
-
yea but it would look much cooler if it pulsed, since im gonna install it anyways. Also, when i took a look at the disc slot, i believe i had found the two blue leds, they don't appear to be smd 0603s like i thought. Here's some pictures:

wat kind of leds are they and can I easily swap the blue leds to purple UVs? like swapping them on a wiimote?
