Ok, so I'm looking to wire my leds to the hold button. Have a quick voltage question...
What is the voltage of the power source shown in this tutorial?

I think its 3.5v but confirm with someone else.

Thanks a bunch. I search and searched and searched but it was difficult to get solid voltage information... even on acidmods! Unfortunately, all the voltage information is in text form with no pictures. Some posts say all points on the power board are 3.6, others say there are 5.0 and higher voltage spots as well.
Anyway, nice to have this sorted out. Thanks again.

There is none. The 3.6v on the Powerboard is actually 5v. Just use a resistor and hook it up.

Well, I already ordered resisters assuming that I was wiring to a 3.6v point. Can anyone tell me if this point is 3.6?

There is none. The 3.6v on the Powerboard is actually 5v. Just use a resistor and hook it up.
now i don't necessarily believe that. ive done 3 led mods using that spot and ive never used a resistor. every time ive measured iv gotten around 3.5. ive used the same spot for the el wire psp. the leds have been fully functional for over a year now.

Get me a new Powerboard, rich kid.

i don't think it is. like i said 3 psp's no power or charge led's and no resistors. they all still work.

What are power charging LEDs?
Say IF the power supply is 3.6v, and i got resistors for a 5.0v when i install them, would my LED be any less bright? or it just wont turn on?
Say IF the power supply is 5.0v and i got resistors for a 3.6v any chance of shorting the board?
IF in anyway theres risk of shorting the board, id go for the non risk way which is having a supply of 3.6v with 5.0v resistor IF it works. If it doesnt work, i need to get 2 types of resistor to make it work. Could you guys enlighten me on this before i make my order?? :tup:

this is why everyone should use one of the 5v points on the mobo much simpler

oh you could do that? So let me confirm something again. I dont want to run up and down my post and his so ima just ask here.
The hold-switch is on the powerboard, so i just scratch the part to disable the hold switch. Then start mounting my led's to the mobo? Confirmed that the mobo gives 5.0v? (i just want to be sure)
Its that simple?
Oh and one more thing, taking off the faceplate, i just yank off the analog controller? i wont be damaging the analog right?
