Post by: lookkool3 on March 26, 2008, 03:20:01 PM
me and one of my friends were takeing apart our PSPs :psp:  :drunk:  :psp: and he  :censored: up his backlight the clamp that holds it in place... well he was fliping it back and forth and it snaped off but even before he "accedentally" broke it off it wouldn't work i was thinking he should buy this back light off this site http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-psp-bal (http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-psp-bal) even if we do buy this i dont think its the backlight :dntknw: it might be the mother board

we tryed to switch each others lcd screens to see if it would turn on and since i got a slim and he has a phat they dont even fit so he wants to just sell me his psp for 60 and if i buy it from him im going to be a lonely modder :cry2: so i rather help him fix it so if any body has some idea on how i can help him fix it please tell me :beg:  :help: :beg:

what site?? :dntknw:

i dont think it makes a difference if i bridge it cuz when we put the backlight wire were it goes and its touching the right wires or those little pines watever you call them, and we turn on the psp the back light doesn't turn on but you can kinda see the screen

Before you bridge any fuses, try testing the pins on the connector to see if you are getting any current. This way you can determine whether the problem is in your back light or mobo.

Pin#

1:----Power-

2:----NC

3:----NC

4:----Power+

Dude the clamp is broken off, but it doesnt matter. All you do is plug the backlight ribbon in, and then tape it with electrical tape so it doesnt fall out. The clamp holds it there, so an alternative is tape.

What you need to do is bridge the fuse, find the fuse and drop a big blob of solder on it. The screen isnt damaged, so you dont need a new one.

thats the same thing i was thinking of doing but it dosent turn on any way if you connect the ribbon

Blizzard, look, he is a new guy to this, he probly has nothing to test out current wit. try i22 foosh's idea, tape it. if you didnt tape it before, if probly falls out when you put LCD all the way on. if not, you can always solder it on. if that doesnt work, your mobo is messed up.
