dont change this form here i want it be seen
for teh ppl who knows something about speakers,
how does this setup look
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NDdCCh00i2c/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=136TR690TX&s=0&cc=01 (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NDdCCh00i2c/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=136TR690TX&s=0&cc=01) (rear deck)
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-S8yNmXObXkQ/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=136TR525CX&s=0&cc=01 (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-S8yNmXObXkQ/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=136TR525CX&s=0&cc=01) (front door)
i think i can just run em off ma old amp
-
I removed the Pic because it had your personal information on it, but from what I saw you can get similar quality for less money, the only thing I would spend a lot on is the subwoofers, which looks like a good deal with the Rockfords
-
I wouldn't hook the amp to the door or deck speakers. alot of cars have stock amps in them now and run on 8 ohm speakers so 4 ohms are more efficient which will give you a better sound so if you have subs you can still hear the words. what kind of amp do you have(wattage and ohms) and is it bridgable?
-
thx reaper i didnt see it srry
but yea heres the info on speaker and im in a hurry
i dont think i matched uuup my suuub with my amp right but here look
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=24 (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=24)
its the 10W3v3-4
amp is

P4002
400 Watt 2-Channel Amplifier
-
that amp will run at 2 amps so if you are getting 2 subs buy 2 4 ohm subs and bridge them together to the amp and it will then run the amp at 2 ohms with max power to both speakers. if one sub get a 2 ohm and bridge it alone. if you need help with the bridge let me know or ask your local shop.
-
u and nico will help
nico has been sicka nd busy
reaper what else could i use for my car
id advise to use crutchfeild
they will tell me if i can use it in my car(that it will fit) plus i get free shipping... i own a Vehicle: 1998 Chrysler Cirrus Sedan with AM/FM/Cassette deck; with joystick type fader
just in case u wanna help me out on taht site with the speakers
id like them to be jl cause i know they are good
i dont wanna have to replace my factory amp cause thats more money
-
here how about thease then...
https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7257_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P1692C.html (https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7257_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P1692C.html)
then
https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7260_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P152C.html (https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7260_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P152C.html)
would yall think thos 2would be better
would i have to replace my factory amp?
-
I use crutchfield for all my builds, which I've done about 20 of in the past school year, mostly for the electronics kids after they build their subwoofers in class...
For one thing I would 110 percent recommend getting a new head unit (deck, receiver whatever you wanna call it)
For a car your size I would recommend anything between 200-250 watts RMS
Don't bother with the tweeters in the front, they are usually expensive to replace and don't add that much to the overall sound quality of the car
I myself prefer Polk and Sony for the 5 and a quarters and 6 by 9's, and Rockfords make for great subwoofers *a must for a REALLY good sound system*
Whatever you choose, make sure you look for speakers that can handle AT LEAST 60 watts RMS if you want to really crank up the sound, especially with a higher powered head unit.
-
should i get my rear decka nd front door speakers 2 way or 4 way if i wanna hook em all up to one amp
heres my speakers
rear deck its 75 rms 150 max 2 way
front doors 60 rms and 120 max watt 2 way
what should i do here
-
memphis audio also makes some realy good subs, and crutchfield is cool but sometimes they overcharge a lil bit and you might be able to find the same stuff cheaper if you shop around a lil
-
yea im also lookin at sonic electronix man wanna talk about great deals
but i still dont know what amp i should get when my speakers are at (front door) RMS75 max 150 (rear deck) RMS 100 watt MAX 200 watt
and they are both 2 way
what is teh 2 way mean
like 2 of that speaker are lined up on teh amp...
then how do i hook amp up to my car stero(my radio that is)
-
are you using the stock radio? if so you can get an interface that will allow you to convert the reg. speaker wire to rca jacks and you won't need to bypass the factory amp if it has one. http://www.modifiedlife.com/1998-chrysler-cirrus-car-radio-stereo-wiring-diagram/ this page gives you the color of each wire and what it does. it says there is no factory amp so you can use the antenea trigger wire to power on the new amp(that would be the remote to the amp). hope that helps.
-
what a antinea trigger
i knopw what teh intena is but a trigger
i wouldnt hook it up there simply beacuse my radio dosnt get :censored: for reception now and onl;y one channel if my door is open lol
so im gonna try a new head deck
and i want a new amp because well i can run the speakers better with a amp in general than a 8 watt radio
it will put out distortion i bet
-
the antenea trigger has nothing to do with reception, it signals the power antenea (motorized) to move when the radio turns on. that is the best way to hook it up to a stock radio. if you buy a new head unit that will simplify everything just save yourself a headache and buy the factory wire harness adapter and you will probably need an antenea adapter as well because american cars have a diffferent size. you can get both at circuit city.
-
I would recommend ten million percent to upgrade the radio, as it can make the car sound 10 times better with just the stock speakers...
-
thats funny because my intena dosnt go up and down its just sits there in one spot
and the only reason why i dont wanna upgrade my stero deck is because i like my anolog stick fader
its has a bass and treble and then i can adjust where the souuund comes from its a rotating stick
so i wish i couuld keep that instead of having to click this then click that and do this just to move teh base
but im pritty sure im screwed with that
im thinkin about gettin teh one with the bluetooth so i can use my phone in teh car
ey reaper and teepee can ya show mne some cool radio decks that can pick up fm good
and thats under 200 lol
and i still need a amp lol
btw the wiring chart helped dood
thank a bunch man
-
does your current deck even have rca outputs for a amp?

If you buy a new deck it will have an amp built in, unless you are adding a subwoofer box, in which case you would need pre-amp RCA outputs on the deck in the first place, which most factory radios won't have...
-
well id probably say no
i mean its from 98 LOL
by rca jacks do u mean the ones that look liek this?
not the component red white and yellow
id probably say no
but wouuld it be in the back so i wont see teh wires
btw i am gettin suuubs eventually
so the new deck will work as my amp huh... i hope so man

Yes the Red and White ones work as sound
A new deck will have outputs for a subwoofer and will act as an amp to all the speakers already in/being replaced in your car, as well as make the whole thing sound 100 times better
-
aww yea thats right thats what happened in ma sis POC ford aspire
(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.edmunds.com%2Fpictures%2FVEHICLE%2F1995%2FFord%2F7640%2F1995.ford.aspire.3638-396x249.jpg&hash=b37ffd5dd812eba548c526e710fef0fad4059280)
yea she had a nice kenwood and it blew her stock speakers
id liek to keep teh stock speakers so IF i sell ma car im gonna put the stolk back ina nd take the good ones out and put back in teh old radio cause im one cheap ass LOL
-
if you get the interface I mentioned earlier you can convert you stock speaker wire to rca jacks and you antenea might not move but the wire should be there because the manufacturers use the same wiring harness for all similar vehicles so if iw was an option on yhat model then you have the wire and that diagram says it was an option so if you want to keep the stock radio you can. and either way reaper is right, a new stereo will have a built in amp but you factory radio has one to. and most radios, stock or aftermarket, are about 45-50 watts peak per channel so thats like a 180-200 watt amp.
-
hmm so i guess i might just get me a new car deck
so i need to turn my old speaker wire into rca cables
or can i do it by wire and screw/ wire clamp
or does that all depend on the deck i get
and if i do have to replace them it shouldnt be that hard right?
i can get the new rca cables an tir em to th old wireas and pull at the radio deck untill they appear?
-
a new deck would have the female end for rca jacks to plug into, but you only use them to wire an amp. if you get a new deck, buy the factory wireharness adapter so you don't need to cut the cars harness and when you wire it to the radio you just plug it in to the stock harness. if you aren't going to use an external amp you don't need to worry about rca jacks. you can use the stock wires, which is the easiest wayand no running new wires, unless your using subs. if no subs save your money and don't buy the amp.
-
actually, you can just turn the stock speaker cables into a universal adapter (cheap ass hell but they do what they need) and you won't have to worry about any wiring
-
thats what I was refering to with the interface, speaker wire goes in one end the other end is female rca plugs.
-
well im gonna put a sub in someday
not now but this yr sometime
so its this one

i liek teh second one the most
it has rcas in teh rear and bluetooth optional which i dont know how to add to it from crutchfeild lol
btw this is what teh second one looks liek
(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fakamaipix.crutchfield.com%2Fproducts%2F2007%2F070%2Fh070XDMA771-f_mt-1p.jpg&hash=f6cbef2d102b9d1dbbea5bdf9550f19c0d8e404c)
i like it alot and it has what i need lol
-
looks cool but I'd recomend finding one with usb in. you can put music onto a flash drive, psp, ormp3 player and it will charge while you listen. it comes in handy I have around 800 songs on my flash drive and don't have any cds in my car to get ruined, stolen or take up space.
-
is there anyway to get a regular 1/4' jack instead of a ipod cable drawn thro the back into my glove box liek a ipod cable but its just a regular psp jack
?
-
the radio I have uses a standard size usb plug in in the back and came with an extention cable so you can plug the psp usb to it or any other for that matter
-
ill keep that in mind but what im talkin about is the plug that goes from the back of the thing into the ipod do they have thos but for regular aux jacks 1/4' headphone style
-
I wouldn't recommend that radio because of its size, it would attract to much attention from someone who might steal it
-
im not too worryed about that
simple because i have a alarm and i can detach it so if im gonna be gone from my car for a long period of time im good
and when i am away from my car its under servalence by my school work or its out front of my home and my horn is very loud and id wake up if i heard it..
but i know what ya mean tho
-
if you get a radio that has an rca input in the back you can splice a headphone jack to rca cable and use that but otherwise I'm not sure it's been a while since I last looked but I'll check around

a majority of people don't pay attention to car alarms, and its not hard to break into a car without the alarm going off
-
I agree fully. they sell a tool that designed to be a spring loaded center punch and it can shatter a window without setting off the vibration sensor on your alarmthen you can compromise the alarm and it will all take less than 2 minutes literally.

I was referring to using a slim jim to pop open cars, I have one that came with my car. Every once in a while me and my friends break into another one of my friend's car, put it in nuetral and roll it off to the other side of the parking lot :winker:
To stay on topic if you do get that make sure you take that faceplate off every time you leave the car unless you have video surveillance...
-
my alarm wong go off it dosnt have a vib senser if u open the door inside or outside teh horn will flare
i should do what they do in the uk and have a small flmae thrower on teh bottom of my car LOL jk
but yea the rcas are red and white and i have like 6 rca to headphone jacks
they varry from 2 in to 30 in so im good lol
i called up crutchfeild and he helped me

That's just the thing with my kind of slim jim, it opens the hooks, not the handle
-
i kmnow what a slim jim is
it pops up teh locka nd u can open teh door
well my alarm will still go off
the only way to turn alram off is with my bob
ive tested it

Not the kind that goes into the side by the lock itself I'll get a picture of it...
-
ohhh
i know what ur talkin about now
well i was locked outta ma friend did that for me
the alarm stillw ent off whne the door opened
my key was inside the car
funny story was i locked my car with the bob and left it in the car when i was distracted by what he was doin
-
most car alarms are triggered 2 ways. one way is the vib. sensor the other is buy the dome light cicuit so when the door opens the light turns on and triggers the alarm. but you can eleiminate all that buy disconecting the battery then you have all the time in the world to do what you want inside the car. the biggest way to stop a thief is don't let them know you have it. remove you faceplate and turn the volume down a few minutes before you get to where you're going to park.
-
well they cant get to teh batt along as i dont turn my steering wheel all teh way to teh left
thats the only way to reach my batt lol its in the left wheel column
-
you don't need to actually get to the battery just either the pos or ground if either are disconnected from the bat then nothing will have power but with no vib sensor in you car you don't have to worry about setting off the alarm if you don't open a door so a thief would'nt need to worry. so take propper precaution and don't make it easy besides with gas prices the way they are they won't even bother with the radio they will take you gas.
-
lol yea
but even still hed have to pop the hood and even if he did then a cam will get him
other than my house but my neiborhood is very good
but im still not very worryed about it gettin stolen
and yea my gas opening dosnt have a lock so i might be screwed there lol
but yea

check em out
and tell me what yall think
with everything i need its a total
$569
-
looks good but I think you will still need an amp install kit and check to see if you need the antenea adapter and you really should get the factory harness adapter so you don't need to cut any wires.
-
why are you getting an amp?? The new deck has built in amplification...
-
ok harness comes with my radiodeck
and ill just buy the speakers here and i can get them cheaper
i dont know what the antena adpter does
im not worried about wires the manuale and teh deck comes with everything i need or at least the guy that i talked to at crutchfeild said it did
btw reaper 17 watts isnt :censored: when my speakers can take 75 to 100 watts rms
-
ok so help me out here guys
so i want a amp that can pumpa bout 75-90watts RMS and 200 max
because my speakers specs are sayin that my front speakers are runnin at 75 watts RMS and 150MAX
and my rear 6X9's are runnin at 100RMS and 200 MAX
would it be best to get a amp that has a fan in it because im gonna try to put it under my seat
or just in my trunk lol
-
having a fan on the amp will help with over heating but only if it has airflow to begin with. under the seat isn't a good place for an amp because there isnt enough air and the upolstry acts like insulation. the trunk works better and the best way to mount it is vertical and with space around it.
