well i need to make a charger for an apple laptop i just got it an i dont want to spend 80$ on one unless i know it works so is there a solder point inside so i can jus see if it works or is there a alternative way to charge it? :help:
-
DO NOT DO THIS.
Making your own chargers for such things is VERY dangerous and batteries can explode!
DON'T continue with this project. PLEASE don't.
-
he is nor kidding lithum ion battries are cool, but crazy dangerous
-
Making this will void your Apple Warranty.
Stop being so damn cheap, and pay the bloody $80
-
Or just go up to a teck store and if they have a macbook setup just ask if you can use the charger to test if your macbook works :hifive:
At least that is how I would do it.
-
well ok thanks for the feed back i found a friend who has a charger and it works so i went and found a charger on ebay for 20$.
and mattzani im getting tired of you but im not going to flame you or argue with you :censored:
-
by way you could solve this in private and look a little more mature
-
i agree with tec i am not going to be an unmature little kid who wants to argue over the internet so grow up!

You are arguing. Just leave this thread and play with your mac and be happy and ignore him.
-
i agree with tec you guys need to not argue and matt just because you have an apple laptop doesnt meen you can ffor every accessory for it. i couldnt for my first apple product as it was a gift from my uncle who was upgrading and i had to save up for a while to buy some accessorys like apple keyboard and mouse for it
-
Making your own charger is perfectly safe, as long as it is the correct amps and voltage.
-
No, im saying that if you have the Laptop, how can you loose the charger? And also, i'd never risk making something and plugging it into my MBP.
And from now on, the take to store to charge trick wont work, the new MB's use an 85 Watt Charger AFAIK.
-
ive used both 80 and 60 watt chargers for my mbp. and if you are gouing to make a charger it needs to be well tested before plugging it in anyware and then when u do plug it in put it on a trip plug or surge protector - try buying a broken one off ebay and see what makes it tick
-
You shouldnt, a 65 Watt Charger (MBA/MB) Isnt strong enough to charge the battery.
-
well it charges fine for me when i use just takes 20mins longer
