i want to turn my ds into and iLite

an iLite? get it? what i mean is, i want to put the mac apple logo on the back of my ds, itll match my nano and macbook that way! so i need that mac apple logo. anyone know of if theres a plastic one, or will i have to cut it out of the back of my ds? HELP!!!

You could just get the sticker, and put it on.

If you wanted the best effect, find someone with a CNC or laser cutter, cut the logo out of the top, and cut it out of white plastic (1mm) and slot it in the top.

yeah i was thinking that. you know how the little green light blinks when you close your ds? would the leds do that as well?

what would be awesome looking is if you put the clear "apple" on a black backing then put white LEDs pointing up from the bottom to make it look like the real thing and have the leds switch to like red when its almost dead... i can imagine it in my head but just really cant explain it correctly

check checkity check i got ya! yeah im soooo feeling this iLite design. im also going to buy the chrome housing and switch the bottom so itll be like an ipod lol. i got this planned out. i want the buttons to stay black but the x y b a on them i want to light up. ive went through the other bulletins and drilling through the button through the letter til the light shows through. i thought about doing that ad then filling the hole with superglue or something clear so the hole wouldnt be there, and the light would show through, but is that my only option? no place sells buttons with clear lettering?

you only drill part of the way through, untill the white mostly stops but you can see the back of the letter, because the letters are a seperate piece of plastic that is white which captures light it will make the white part glow softly

You'll need to send your DS Lid off to someone, so they can cut a hole for the apple logo, and cut out the apple logo on some white acyrlic.

i was just thinking about having them cut it out, then when they'd send it back to be id glue a piece of frosted clear case to cover the hole on the inside. also while on the inside id put the leds around it, then wire it into the lighting for the power button, so that when i turn it on it turns on, when i close it and it goes into standby it blinks, and when its low an juice it changes color. pretty deep lol. i was also going to change the bottom of the ds with the chrome replacement housing so it looks like a black ipod. i want it to look like an apple  product 100%

yes, they are a piece of white plastic held into the black, all nintendo buttons are like that, aftermarket ones are painted on...

Basically when doing the soft glow mod (invented by rocky) for a button you take out the button and you will see some filler sort of stuff, now, drill that out CAREFULLY until you can see the letters outline, it will be obvious, now, glue an led in there and no matter what colour your buttons are, blue etc, the LIGHTER colour will glow, so when rocky first did this in white buttons, the button gave off a soft glow making the letter nice and visible against it, when done in black the white is lighter.
