LED pricing
« on: December 17, 2007, 02:28:02 PM »
Ok im just wondering how much exactly do you guys pay for your 0603 SMD(SMT) LEDs. Im looking at a pack of 20 ultra bright blue ones and the price is £3.49 with £0.49 for P+P.
What do you guys think and will i get them any cheaper?

Also do i need to run resistors with the LEDs? if so in series or parallel.. ?where can i get suitable resistors?

That sounds good for pricing.Best to wire in parallel, and if your wiring to more than 3.3V use a 10ohm resistor.

You can get resistors at pretty much any electronics store.Just get 10ohm ones, you won't need anything higher. You probably won't even need them since your using blue leds.

As many as you want. They are all getting the same amount of power when wired in parallel. It just drains the battery faster with more.
