It's not that they don't like violent games, it's that most violent games (not all) are the big hitters that use up the powerful consoles power.  COD4 for example, probably one of my most favorite games of all time, is so graphically intense that the Wii would struggle outputting 2-3 Frames Per Second whereas the PS3/360 handle it quite well.

Family console.

*Cough*
Red steel
Resident Evil 4
Umberella Chronicles
Various Others
*Cough*

Just because it doesn't have "Medal of Honer" and "Call of Duty" doesn't exclude all violent games.

Also it depends on how cruel is "violent".

Common fact: Mario jumps on and throws fireballs at his enemies

that could be looked as violent if you look at it one way. If someone came up to you, jumped on your head, then set you alight, would you be happy?

The wii has manhunt 2 doesn't it? Im pretty sure thats super violent and gory.

Then again, nintendo hasn't had a history with alot of super violent games. Nintendo also has supported a minimal amount of realistic violence too. They do advertise their consoles to be family friendly, and have that parental lock just incase someone else wants to play an amazing game such as resident evil 4. Nintendo isn't too big on graphics anymore either, they focus more on innovative gameplay instead.

Thats where I always disagree.  Changing the controls doesn't change gameplay, it changes how you physically play the game.  Personally, if I wanna play baseball, imma grab my mitt and bat and call some friends.  And real life bowling >>> wii bowling LOL

My favorite quote, from some random guy, is  "I don't wanna waggle by arms when playing a game''

LOL WAGGLE  WTF IS A WAGGLE

Anyways, back on topic yeah nintendo seems to focus on the family type games, such as the 9 trillion mario games, zelda games and all their offspring.

changing controls changes gameplay experience though!
eg:

Resident evil 4 on ps2 = suxor
Resident evil 4 on wii = ROXOR!!

Simpson game on wii = suxor
Simpson game on anything else = ROXOR!!

and besides, there are some pointless games (bleach for example) which i can sit ontop of a jack hammer (or tie my wiimote to a jack hammer) and beat the game easily.

An awesome game that could be ported over to the wii would be Portal!!! Omg i would love that game even more. WCC ftw!

Gameplay is the difference between a western RPG and an eastern RPG, or a first person shooter to a third person shooter.

The input controls is the difference between the Wii and the... everything else...

And RE4 on the PS2 kicks so much ass that you should never say it sucks lest i cut out your tongue, your internet tongue... and fingers...  :yess:

LOL... be nice Reaper, but yeah Resident Evil 4 kicks ass on both platforms even though I like it better on Wii. Too bad they didn't add any new content for the Wii version.  :dntknw:

The wii version of RE4 bugs me a lot.......I prefer playing it on my GC.
I'm used to the 1st person wii shooters streering controls and in RE4
it's different when aiming..It really bugs me.Some games are MEANT to
be played with a controller instead of something like a wiimote..
Luckily nintendo was wise enough to support GC controllers on Brawl.
PS: Trauma center second opinion FTW (50 hours of playtime so far and stuck)

blasphomy! Lies! Heretic! Now i can't beat everyone down with my wii controler skills =(

I guess its just personal opinion then, i like playing those light games in the arcades (wasted like $200 playing Ghost squad in acrades before it came out) so maybe thats why im better with shooters on the wii.

Lol it's better you know now that GC controller is supported for wii as Wii is kinda buggy with fast movements you have to do and stuff.Try to play SSX blur...It's freaking annoying to make the tricks with the wiimote!!Imagine trying to make a hit to brawl!! It might turn out like a normal attack instead of a charge smash !That would be a disaster in the game!

The wii has violent games, just not games like gta, cod4 because those require to much horsepower which the wii doesn't have. There are violent games though, just not that 1st/3rd person shooters
future mods: case swap for psp, dual nub

Nintendo have the same violent games than Sega, Microsoft, Sony, Snk and Atari consoles.  :winker:
