got GHIII but slow. how can i fix this?
« on: March 17, 2008, 02:15:41 PM »
hello, just got GHIII and installed it on my computer and it is fast until i get to actually playing a song. its not that its lagging but when i go to strum a fret it takes like half a second to strum. i have 1 GB of actual ram and then i made xp take an extre 9 GB from my hard drive and  use it as ram and its still slow. i was wondering if anyone knows how i can make this game run faster could you please tell me? also some things to point out: I am not running it from the disk, i got the game from the pirates if you know what i mean. I have resolution as low as it can go and no crowd and stand still mode or something like that idk. and please dont tell me to search google because i did and it came up with a bunch of crap stuff like registry cleaners and stuff like that.
thanks in advance!

umm, actually, i do know what ram is, and you want to see what i mean if you have xp? open up start, go to control panel, go to performance and mantinience, go to system, go to advanced, under performance click settings, and from there, you can take memory from your hd and use it as ram.

I'm going to ignore any wording of pirates... and going to also say I wouldn't support the devs on the PC GH3.  I can't even run it all that smoothly yet I can max out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with full HDR and Bloom and play crysis on high/veryhigh settings.  It's just the game is coded badly.  It's all in the graphics card...

He's talking about Virtual Memory. It's anything but impossible lol, just gives you crappy performance cause of HDD access times. The rule of thumb is to go double what your current amount of RAM is, if you fill your RAM at any time it will overflow onto the HDD. If Virtual Memory didn't exist the system would reboot after the overflow because the overflow would cause a fatal error.  At anyrate afataldonkey, I'm not willing to help troubleshoot your problem seeing as you didn't purchase the game. Do what the rest of us did and buy it... On something other then the PC lol.

EDIT: Didn't see the date on this lol, it was on page 1 so I figured it was something recent. Sorry bout that.
