DIY PCB for pic programer
« on: August 27, 2008, 07:28:41 AM »
I'm more of the make it my self type person, and would really like to print my own circuit board for a PIC programmer as I finally got my programmer working a couple of days ago, and all though it looks good as is, I think a PCB would look even sweeter, if anybody know anything about this or somewhere that sells a kit for this let me know, as I wouldn't mind getting the parts shipped in and then working on this next week.

Radioshack is amazing. Yes, they sell a kit for about $15-20(around there) and it contains I think 2 pcb boards(you can also buy more, bigger, and also double sided there) and it also contains the solvent solution and etching solution. I THINK it comes with a permanent marker to draw traces if you wish also. I've gotten the kit before and I was please with it.
(Be careful. The solvents stain. Badly. LOL)

Unless I was walking around soldering and stuff at age 5/6, nope, I didn't XD
hahaha.
And, yeah definitely don't use the radioshack marker for it. gameroms is right, it's horrible lol.

This is the site people say is the best. Its very imformative and what not.
http://www.fullnet.com/u/tomg/gooteepc.htm

Also instructables.com if you search PCB, they have a picture process which is also helpful to clearify alot of the terminology. The first link also has the link for the download of the pcb layout designer. Its meant for designing and sending it to their company for production but it works just to print it out and use it as your iron on. Let me know how this works out as im quite interested!
