New Breadboard for me
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:25:29 PM »
So today was a good day, I show up to my Academy Class(u take a class in another school), and im Taking A+, so i can get my certification out of the way. Well in that class im like a teacher pet, because i dont do what other kids do, i either run errands or fix ppl's computers so that my teacher doesnt have to. This way i get to do what i want and not do bs class work.
Well today i was talking to my teacher on how i make portable battery packs and she told me to hold on. She walked into the back of her storage room and got me an INSANE looking breadboard for freeeeeeeeeee.

Analog/Digital Trainer PAD-234A

It Seems awesome. Anyone got any experience using this?
Find me a manual? I looked everywhere and i couldnt find one.\

Oh. Meh, I don't like those. It's pretty much just a little electronics kit to me. Well, it'd be cool to have I guess...but it's...eh, an electronics kit.

Well since im kind of broke and probable will be till i get out of college this is awesome, I had been looking at radioshack breadboards, but when i compared them to this, its...uhm... Not comparable in my eyes. The ones at radioshack look like  :censored: compared to this. And i dont really care if its an electronic's kit, but to me its better then nohing.
Im happy

Oh yeah I'm not saying it's bad, noooo. I'm just saying it's more or less just an electronics kit. It is pretty cool, I guess. I'd like to have one to just like test stuff on and everything, but I've never used one so I can't really say I suppose.

I luvz breadboards, they are great for prototyping without solder. You need the right awg hook up wire for the slots tho.

Im not to worried about what AWG wire is needed, my teacher said she had a couple of ziplock 1gallon bags full of stuff that goes with this, I didnt have time to get it, otherwise i would have missed my bus back to my school.

Only hardcore people use breadboards, join the club  :victory:

You need 22 - 26 AWG wire, or buy a set of jump/jumper wires.
But 30 AWG just about works.

Those boards are very nice to have, they usually have all sorts of goodies on board like different voltage supplies and signals and switches and lights ect ect.  They are very expensive to buy new and that is a definitely a good score.  Don't worry about em being old, electrons were the same back then as they are now.

I don't really care if they're old or not, the fact that i got something that i needed was a hell of a lot better then paying for one. As long as i'm happy i couldn't care more if its old or broken or w/e. I'm just really happy i finally got one.

I wasn't commenting on anybodies proto-trainer in particular.  I just stated that so that people who don't already have em wont be turned off from gettng em at junk sales or surplus sales (cuz that is where you will find most of them for reasonable $$$) These may be the best thing going for amature digital and analog inventors, as they eliminate a whole slu of expensive equipement.
