I'd like to see:
Wifi draft N capabilities
Dual nubs
Slide-up screen that reveals a built in full qwerty keyboard
A different media storage, such as an SD slot for SD games instead of UMDs
Touch screen would be nice
Uhm...a SIM card slot so that you can plug in your SIM card and use the psp as a phone(the hardware is built in)
A Windows Mobile subset

Probably more but it won't happen.

I actually love the idea of a Slide up Screen for a keybored. Mine are:

-2 MS readers, one under/over the other.
-Amps for the front PSP speakers. :dribble:
-Internal fan(s).
-SD card readers
-Internal LocationFree (I dont know much about this... All I know is that it has American TV.)
-Built in Nintendo DS game reader

The last one sounds impossible, but it's still worth mentioning.

The screen has already been tried (sliding screen and keyboard) and it couldn't be done, not enough room. You can't put wireless N in there, my suggestion it at least research what Draft N is before saying you can just throw it in there, cuz you can't. Unfortunately. That'd be a great addition for wireless gaming, though.

The only possible things out of what I said are the touch screen, sd slot(but not for games), and dual nubs. The Windows subset is possible but only by recoding a whole new OS for the psp.

The keyboard has been proven to work.  It would need to me hardwired with some sort of pass through.  The slider screen would be harder due to the fact you would need to extend the LCD/back light cables.  You could hack apart a slider cell for its mechanism though.

dude, that would be so hard after looking at what you said, and jumbo said you cant solder yet

GOOD LUCK the screen is a BIG challge, only folklord and Alein-X who both have atleast a year or more knowlege of soldering, and working, did it,  :boxed: and programing keyboard, fiting,

Yeah right, you got me, i cant even do this, i was X R&D and I dont even think i could do that

again good luck, you will need it

-Personally, I'd like a smaller form factor; width and depth-wise, it should be slimmer  :yess:
-I agree with the qwerty keyboard. Would be a great messenger device (especially if it had aim and fast internet connecting capabilities.
-I don't really mind the UMD drive... I could use the extra space for a battery or two
-Most of all, I'd like a better file view structure. Sure, you can scroll down all those items, but it'd be nice if a small thumbnail view with 5:5 icons (so 25 per page) was there.
-My biggest pet peeve of all: MUSIC CAPABILITIES. I'm sorry for the caps, but god, it SUCKS. I mean, you can put your music in folders to create a "playlist," but what happens if you're one of those people who view by album/artist/genre/entire library? I think Sony could have done better with it's music.
**3g? Skype is nice and... actually, it's not so great IMHO. I'd like to make real calls. Again, not really necessary because I'd have a phone in my pocket most likely. That, and If I regain consciousness after a hangover and I'm lost, I'd either have to rely on a cellphone or my :10 min battery-left psp2 to call my friend over and pick me up. I say :10 min only because I was probably gaming and drinking at the same time (again).
-More ram
-Better processor
-Dual Nubs
-L2 and R2 buttons? (lol, who knows, maybe they'll be able to recreate ps2 games in psp2 games)
**3mp camera (just because the DSi will have one)

**Not necessary, but would love having.

Where did you get the slider from?  I went to several stores and the only response I got was buy it new/start a contract.  They said all of the old/broke phones go to some charity.  I would've felt like an  :censored: to swipe one from their box at that point.

if your already gonna do a touch screen, wouldnt it be easier to have an osk (on screen keyboard) like the touch blackberry, it would save space and be less mechanically complicated, with the slider you'll always run into the chance of it not sliding properly and then theres also the slack in the cables to deal with unless you build some sort of pin board.

im not tryin to be a nah-sayer its just that your project is quite ambitious and may benefit from the saved space and simplicity of using an OSK instead of a slider.

things i'd like to see stuffed in there:
- touch screen with OSK
- more ram
- dual nubs
- multi card reader
         or
- multiple memory slots of the same type ( 2- pro duo & 2- sd)

i'll come up with more later

Hopefully available on PSP2,

It's better for them to not rush making something similar,

Doesn't matter for me waiting 2 more years, but something big coming up..

What do you think

Yea I agree. I don't want these minor updates every year on something that isn't really THAT great to begin with.

All I wanna see in the PSP2 is this, In my pocket, and running.
  Pandora Handheld

And Nassz, you might be able to, might just match up the inputs, and wire it to a USB, and be sure the program you are using can be sure to look at the USB for the infrared
