LED+ output on psp sound board
« on: December 05, 2008, 06:49:10 AM »
Hey I was wondering - how much voltage comes out of the LED+ on the soundboard? I assume just enough comes out for a blue led? If so, what type of resistor would I need if I wanted to use red leds? Thanks.

you don't need a resistor with the sound board mod. it already has two resistors on the board. i think it kicks out a max voltage of around 3v.

I've found the soundboard on a slim doesn't work too well as the speakers on the slimkick out or power than the phat. i'd make one using two 100 ohm resistors. works alot better from what i've heard (i have yet to try it, but i will give it a go soon on one of my psp's to conform it).

10 Ohms is enough to protect your led against electrical spike

not on a soundboard. as i said, the board already has two resistors on the board. a 191K ohm and a 30k Ohm, but to get it running on a slim you need two 100 ohm resistors instead.

No, I think you misunderstood my question. I know it's got two resistors built in, but then what's the final output with those resistors in? Also, for your suggestion, are you suggesting that I use an lm386 with two 100ohm resistors instead? Sorry, you sorta confused me.

I'm confused,

If you are going to make Audio Amplified PSP LED using lm386,

you have to use 191k Ohms (+), and 30k Ohms (-)..

Idk, but I bought the soundboard from the Acidmods shop. But I think Aphex is telling me I should make the LM386 amp with 100kohm resistors instead.
