which one? i really dont know cause both are like the same

they are gonna be the new gen's. but i also want these logitech z-2300 speakers

. we all agree that the prices are 230-250 for the ipods right? well the spakers cost 130 and some dude on another forum is offering me his 1gen 8gb ipod for 100 so that means i can get what i both want

. but i want the second gen rather than the first.

oh well my sis has the second gen.

so what should i get?

Get the first gen iTouch. Besides the less scratch resistant back and lack of a speaker, it's got jailbreability and it's the same.
I've had both the new classic and both iTouches. Classic is nothing special. iTouch 2g can't be jailbroken, and homebrew has come SUCH a long way since it used to be, and is much better now.

Yeah trust use, get the itouch 1st gen. My friend has the classic and he's always complaining about how his ipod is unhackable, etc.

If you want speakers, and having problems with money, get the x-540s

Very good sound (not as good as x-5500, the 5500 just a 5.1 version of 2300)

And very very reasonably priced

Its much better in terms of bang for buck than the x-5500 though

the x-540's doesnt have alot of bass and thats what im going for

i think ima just go ahead with the 1st gen ipod touch 16gb same price as a 2nd gen 8gb ipod touch

and for the case probally the switcheasy capsule touch or invisible shield

hehe ima have the 1st gen and my sister has the 2nd gen HAHAHAH

I would get the 1st gen ipod touch. Then l8er on just save up for the speakers or follow PhenomenalDesigns advice. I dont know much about either set of speakers, but cmon i mean awesome touchscreen with tons of cool touch games and huge screen...or boring speakers

X-540s have a lot of bass if you turn it up

Some reason the bass goes up a lot more you turn it up, so say im playing a song, and theres not much bass, but its quite, i put it double as loud, but the bass goes about 3x or 4x

And i might get an additional Sub for more base

And i find it crazy, if its $130 for the z-2300 in america, why is it £130 here in the UK?

haha well i want the volume to be kinda ok with bass.

thats what i dont get its common sense why wont you guys get someone who lives in america thats your friend and ship it to you. save alot of money

i would get the 2g touch as it has a faster proccesor and is generally better than the 1st gen apart from been jailbeakable but that will come with time and i rarely use jailbreak apps now i use mainly appstore apps as there are loads of free ones out there and are all pretty decent the only 2 jailbroken apps i use all the time are winterboard and vibrus

Yeah the iPhone Dev Team that brought quickpwn and stuff for the iTouch first gen and the iPhones said that only one of them even has a 2nd gen iTouch and that they have no plans to work on a jailbreak for it. Although I heard some other random team was giving it a try but they weren't doing very well or something.

the speakers quality isnt great or anything but it is nice to have. I think after you had it for awhile and switched to not having it youd miss it.

well i dont think im getting the ipod touch anymore

somehow my sis ipod touch is missing and my older sis(the one that was gonna buy my ipod touch) was the last one to have it. and if we cant find it i guess shes gonna buy my sis another one so that means i dont get one

my sis(all of them are older(4 sis).) got it for xmas from her bf. and she was gonna buy me one cause i said i dont have enough so she just said pay me back

it wastnt her fault it got lost. fing baby cousins either did something with it and they hid it
