So I just reinstalled Vista a week ago. I'm on Firefox 3 and using Norton Antivirus Gaming Edition(I know, shoot me but it seems to be stable and NOT causing BSoD like my others).

I am CONSTANTLY getting TONS of popups. INCLUDING FROM ACIDMODS.
I'm so sick of it. How do I get rid of them? The built in FF3 popup blocker doesn't do

.

Any ideas?!

Exact same problem. Do you get google redirects all the time too? That's a real pain in the ass.

Not even when I die.
I only trust Kaspersky but I have to this because it's the only other non resource intensive a/v that seems to do good. Everything sucks except Kaspersky but Kaspersky is making my laptop BSoD.

Ive used it for years now, never gave me any problems, and in my opinion, better agiasnt viruses than any other anti virus ive used (with nod32, i havent had any virus infect my pc or anything like that since I was like 11)

BTW 2.7 is better than 3.0 (nod32)

well you must have either a virus, adware, malware alll the other bad wares or/and a trojan as we dont have any popups. is any of your sofware hacked/cracked or downloaded from torrents or anything other than the origional site as someone might be slipping something in that way and have you scanned all your external media with an antivirus that is up to date.

my anti virus of choice is kasperky anti virus 2009. and if yours is acquired illicitly then I suggest buying it as the 2 things that I don't mess around with and buy legit versions of every time are my anti viruses and my operating systems. but I do still choose to buy some of my other software.

I would suggest doing a full system scan with an up to date anti virus and a scan with an anti ad ware program and make sure there all up to date and if that doesn't work disconnect your computer from any network your on then format your drive completely then install your OS then install an anti virus I recommend kasperky and then install an anti ad ware blocker the one i used slips my mind at the minute. then connect to the network and make sure that windows and any anti virus/ad aware programs are up to date and running, then install each piece of software you need

I just installed Vista a week ago and had kaspersky running. From day one kaspersky was making my computer BSoD. It was the SAME as I had on my old install. Meh whatever I'll fix it eventually.. this is gay.

i use Avast! Antivirus and Internet Security

because its freeeeeeeeee, and updates like every day, and im cheap. xD

its really good, saved my ass a couple of times from attack sites.

though im on Windows 7 atm and Using Windows Defender

Use linux or osx if you want aswell

Have you tried to delete all your cookies?

That usually solves it for myself and others.

Just delete all your private cached data in firefox.

Lol, just incase... I just started a started having Linux as the only OS on my laptop now instead of dual booting (I went on XP about once a month for photoshop)

I find antivirus so restricting that's why I don't use it. Had bullguard, annoying as hell, nagged my like my step-mum.

And I run backtrack 3 final time to time aswell
