Gaming PC UPDATE!
« on: February 23, 2009, 04:08:29 PM »
Just got my Swiftec Res in the mail 2 days ago and got around to installing it! Beautiful, and dropped my temps ~3C  :drunk:
Also, awhile back I decided to swap out the thermaltake WC kit and build my own with parts from DangerDen and Swiftec (excellent choice of me! dropped my temps, while running at 3.8GHz on a lapped Q6700, almost 15C!!)

Heres some pics of the semi finished product(Yeah, Yeah more cable management is next..... And to find a better spot for the case fan....)

nice but it needs Some sereous work. Your temps will drop even more if you could get your rad out of the case

Isnt' that the antec 900? If so then cant you mount that fan on the door on the INSIDE of the case. Lol. And Also I think what would be cool is if you took the top piece of and put a radiator on the top of the case. And also it would make those temps even cooler AND it would give you more room for airflow in the case.

Well here is a possible alternative... You could buy a radiator that mounts on the back of the case and run your tubing out to there and then it wont require any modding and it would also alow room for the fan inside the case.

the way it's set up currently, theres a fan on the back side of it and then the one thats ghetto rigged to the door lol... i want to find a way to mount it up on the 200mm fan at the top but it would be a extremely tight fit.... i would have to cut out some of the metal and stuff but it might be worth the redo and then do some cable management while im at it

plus, i really rushed to finish this and its not close to being done yet!

I have a similar rad inside my 900 and I put it in the front of the case. Like this:

I used zip ties to hold it up.

I took out all the HDD cages and mounted the hard drive in the 3.5" to 5.25" bay adapter that came with the case.
