roller coaster help.

ok so my school is going to a roller coaster contest, im doing the electronic part i want it to light up will lots of leds and also hav like a one neon light that is about a foot and 3inches and runs off 12volts, what i need help with is finding a good cheap battery that can run atleast 12v.

it need to be sorta small too, but can last alittle  bit

car battery, or those big rectangular batteries (forget the name), or just use a wall outlet

car battery is too big, and i wish i could use a outlet but i dont think your aloowed

9V batteries? i dont think those are 12V

Get some A23 batterys, they are 12v, a bit hard to find though, and just get a few and put them in parrelell

they're actually very much around, hardware store's have them....petrol stations, security places.....etc

Get a 12V lead acid motocycle/lawnmower battery.  just cuz there 12V doesnt mean they have to be big :winker: I use some at work that are like 5"X5"X3".  Also could hijack a 12V battery of that size out of a broken computer UPS supply.  I bought a little trickle charger for a 12V battery for $20 the other day.

you could also design it for 9V and use a lantern battery.
