help with putting leds in dome of controller

well im a noob ok for starters i want to learn modding so bad but back to the subject. im trying to install 4 red leds in the dome of my controller but i dnt have a power source wondering if any body can tell me or show me where to solder my leds to a power source. thx in advance.

please, please, dont send new members to another site for information that is readily available at AM, the llamma tut is for a wired controller.

you will need a switched power supply (one that turns on and off with the controller) first determine what type of controller you have then use the proper schematic. these pics came from a king mike install, one of the six or so pined to the top of the rapid fire controller page. very easy to find, but here you go.

FTW the llamma link above is using a wired controller that turns off when the usb ports turn off. if you use thoase points for a wired controlled they stay hot.

use the red and black points cg is 3v and matrix is 2.5v

just one note: on matrix, i believe the switched power that we use is @ 2.0V

Remember to pay attention to your LED forward voltages cuz if your controller supply doesnt exceed the Vf of your LED they will be dim or even worse wont light up at all.  That being said, red is really the only color you can get away with on a matrix using the above diagrams to get your power.
