Windows = Office + Gaming
Mac = Anything creative (GFX, VFX, Music Production)
Linux = Run on servers and for geeks to have fun with

Windows

Pros:

Cheaper than a mac

Cons:

Prone to crashes and failures

Mac

Pros:

Can do pretty much anything creative better than a PC
User Freindly environment
Much less problems than windows
Premium Components

Cons:

Expensive
Bad compatibility

Linux

Pros

Great for servers
Free
Great for geeks

Cons

Lack of compatibility
Not very user freindly
Not considered a real OS just yet.

Now can we please stop arguaing.

My friends mac freezes all the time, and it's one of the newer models...so I don't think so

this thread fails hard.

opinion is opinion. get over it.

the only thing is that more often than not Mac users are the ones trying to get Windows users to change their opinion. Instigating an argument, then the other person has no choice but to argue their case. Of course there are excpetions, as with anything, but I do get the feeling some Mac users feel high and mighty over others because of the 'prestige' of owning a Mac. If someone changes their mind about Mac vs. PC, it's because of them, not you. I've never seen a more petty and pointless thread than this. Even if it was a joke, they know full well what the backlash of such a statement is. Now everyone, get over yourselves and realise truly that in someone's mind, the deciding factor is them and not your lame ass attempt to force them to change their mind.

Good day.

yeh that statement was a bit general. and i know macs do freeze up sometime mine has many times the difference is my mac hasnt frozen or locked up fatealy but my windows pcs have. the couple of times my mac has frozen it has been my own fault i was running 6 active desktops about 400 tabs in safari another 50 in firefox, msn, mail app, itunes(massive library), loads of widgits i was batch zipping a load of files unraring a load at the same time i was scanning photos in in iphoto with word and excell documents open  my download manager open (downloading further rara files) and i was doing all this whilst having premiere and photoshop open. it lasted a few hours before it said :censored: you im tired to me so i wasnt to bothered by it as i had saved most of my work and files i think

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

i don't appreciate that attitude
there's something called tolerance; you don't have to accept peoples choices but the least you can do is tolerate it, so don't be a :censored:

Wow, I put this thread up as a joke.

Its getting pretty funny how everyone gets so defensive over 1s and 0s.

You argue that they are expensive. If more people bought them regularly then they would be cheaper. Buy in bulk, get things cheaper. Anyone should know that.
Why don't they sell more? Cos they last a hell of alot longer. My Neighbour has a G4 thats like 7 years old. Runs Leopard like he got it brand new yesterday.

A windows PC slows down after 2 years. And there is no way in hell a 7 year old PC would run Vista.

Nuff sed people.

most consumers dont buy things in bulk. your theory is wrong, thats not how supply and demand works. most people buy one at a time. if significantly more people were buying macs apple would see that as increased demand and therefore might raise their prices as such, depending on how many more people were buying them. i can promise you though that the prices would not go down. apple is out to make money, just like every other company

So if I ordered one right now, they would hand make every part?
Or would they have a bunch of them already?
Firing up the factory because of 1 order for a Mac Mini. That would cost them more.
