Help flashing a Hitachi 47D drive
« on: November 09, 2009, 05:44:22 PM »
I just received my SATA to USB cable in the mail and I want to do this very soon. I want to back up my copy of COD4:MW2 as soon as possible so nothing happens to it. But I'm not really sure where to start. What programs/software do I need, what do I do, what are the chances of being banned, any way to "hide" the fact that it's been flashed, will I be able to play my original games, etc.

You're going to be banned no matter what. You can't hide it right now. You're best waiting until (hopefully) a new iXtreme comes out that's undetectable.

Dang. Can I play the backup games offline without being banned?

Doesn't matter about backups.
Microsoft can detect your drive being flashed, whether you're playing backups or not.

Ok, got it... I'll just have to wait then...

I was talking to some friends, and they said that other drives, such as the samsung drive, could still be stealth flashed. Is this possible? Also, if it is, how can I switch out my Hitachi for the Samsung?

All iXtreme firmwares are stealth flashed.

Can't they detect when you flash your firmware now?

Also, do the samsung drives have a better chance of not being caught?

ALL drives can be caught!
It doesn't matter if they're stealth patched. That's the games, anyway.

Yes Microsoft can detect whether it's been flashed. That's why they're banning.

I already said all of this.
