Sega has announced a new Sonic game for Wii and DS known as Sonic Colors. According to Sega's blog the game takes place in theme park environment and Sonic will have to take on his longtime nemesis Dr.Eggman in what will be a game that "seamlessly combines both 3D and classic 2D game play perspectives, while the Nintendo DS version takes full advantage of the consoles dual screen." Sonic won't be alone this time around though.
Throughout the game Sonic will come across alien creatures known as "wisps" who can give Sonic different abilities depending on the color, which can open up new paths in a level.Yellow wisps for example can cause Sonic to drill thorough to new areas...hmmm, sounds like another game*cough*Mario*cough*. I was wondering if Sega was going to revisit the 3D Sonics after going classic with the now delayed Sonic 4. The teaser trailer doesn't show much but it sounds like it will control like the more recent Sonic games but maybe with a little Rush thrown in for good measure.
