I have an internal CR-3100, its a rather easy mod. (And worth it, too.) Only thing: Do you have a Dremel? You are going to have to cut a hole in your case (picture attached)

And a tip: Get a hot glue gun to hold it in place. Like, LOTS of hot glue--it comes off easy. (Unless you already have a better mounting idea in mind)

Hope that helps :D

Na I didnt really think bout it yet , because I ordered my cr3100 so am waiting for it to come home :) , and I think hot glue would be best , and wont it affect any of the cips on the bottom of the cr3100? , and yeah to take the umd drive out was so easy , am new to mods :) it was a bit harder to get back th metal stripes with the umd door , that took me bout 1min :D , , I also want to put some leds in the umd space next to the cr3100 , so when I open my umd door there gona be light :) , have you got any other tips of good mods for me? thankss

I wouldn't recommend this mod, It is easy but  not worth it, by the time you spend 30$ + 2 high capacity SD cards you could buy a decent size Memory stick duo, back in the day i remember the 1 GB having to constantly add movies, but an 8GB gets the job done.  you should just get a 16 GB. its a lot cheaper than buying photo fast and 2 8GB SD's. A camera is a little more but a lot more fun to play with, you should do that built in instead.
Here was my photofast:
Modded PSP, Dual SD reader, color changing LED's,  4 Dip switches, 18 custom LED's

Same 0603 SMD LED will work, I just use pliers to rip out the old LED, and then apply some rosin to the LED, then add some solder to it. Then repeat on the P-board, and M-Board, Using tweezers line up the LED and quickly apply iron to top of LED above contact, you'll see in attached that the P-board has 2 (-) for power and charge, I sometimes bridge the 2 (-) if i want the power and charge to be the same, if you want them different it will take a little longer and you will need an (L) shaped wire for the (+) to reach around, I wouldn't recommend doing this mod unless you use a clear case, for the effort its not that noticeable.

Yeah, back when I put my CR-3100 in, I saved myself $30 from not getting a Pro Duo. Now they're about the same price, and you're only saving about $5 now getting a 3100 and a couple SD cards. I wouldn't recommend the 3100 anymore, but since you bought it already. . .  :P

I just got a new PSP Slim (TA-085v1 again :D ), and I'm putting a CR-5400 in it this time (with 2 8GB MicroSD cards)--for $40, saving myself $40 from not buying a Pro Duo. :D

It was a good deal, actually:

Oh, if you're going up to 64GBs, then yeah most definitely you'll be saving a lot mroe than buying a Pro Duo.

the cr-3100 has a hardware limitation of 32gb.

It will not recognize anything over 32gb and you'll be wasting memory and money if you try to use two 32gb cards.

The max the cr-3100 will allow is two 16gb cards.

You can run 64GB on a CR-3100. the thing is, not a lot of people at the time had the money to buy the 32gb sd cards, so it wasn't shown in mods a lot, but it does work.

This mod is really great to do, but you might as well get the CR-5400. It's the same size as a MS Pro but it can hold two micro sd cards. I use it running 32GB and it's brilliant. No data corruption or read errors. I'm not sure if it can run 64GB, nothing about that has been posted here.

There is a tutorial for this in the psp slim Tut section on the forum page that tells you how to build this mod :)

[Update]

It turns out i was wrong. My post below explains.

I've been doing some research to see if a cr-3100 is able to support 64GB and it turns out that it doesn't, of sorts.

If you go on google and search for 64GB cr-3100 a few sites come up with people that have tested 2x32GB SDHC cards and it will only give them 44GB. Even more of the space on the adapter is not recognised on a PC when you plug it in via usb (some people have given mixed answers about the exact space a PC will/can't read).

So i stand corrected on that little fact. However from what I'm aware of, you can run a 32GB stick in the adapter, the problem is when you put more than that in the other slot.

Dude, to be fair, 32GB is a hell of a lot of space on a PSP, for the moment i don't think you'll get ant higher than that.

Here is a couple of sites that comment on it.

When I was researching the internal CR-3100 mod myself, I had originally intended to get 64GBs. (Then was turned away by the cost lol.) But a couple people at PSPMod have stated that they have gotten 64GB's working correctly. . . you just gotta mess with it a bit.

EDIT: OP, while looking at your PSP pictures, how the hell did you take apart your PSP without taking the warranty stick off?? :/

Huh? Memory Stick Pro Duos don't fit in the CR-3100, if that's what you're asking.
