Fookz and I were talking the other day and were wanting to come up with some new R&D ideas. One popped in my head that i have never seen before. I thought it would be freakin sweet to mold in an mp3 player to a controller. I was going to add speakers but decided not to. Not many people nowadays even use the xbox live headset because all these little punk kids that are annoying. So why not just plug your headphones into your controller and listen to some sweet tunes?!?! This is still not finished and has a bit of work to go. Half of this shell is fiberglass, which took awhile cause that crap is messy as all hell. You may notice that there is absolutely no face buttons lol. Just about everything is going to be operated from tact buttons. The new ROL will be 3mm leds near the top of the controller probably above the screen. I might change my mind on that so bare with me. This will have a usb port so you just plug the controller into the computer and load more music on it "how badass is that". I just finished sueding it with some micro blue suede. It might look purple in the pictures but its actually blue. Sorry for not taking pictures of the beginning process, i just really hate stopping in the middle of my work to take pictures. O yeah, this will have volume,play,skip buttons etc.

I am definitely open to ideas. Please let me know if you have any.

So you're gonna use that joystick for the ABXY and D-pad. I can't wait to see.

This thing needs purple neon EL wire lights and gold leaf around the screen's border.

the ROL would probably look cool if you did it nightrider style across the top of the mp3. also if you had the music play over the mic and headphones of xbox live headset but with a cut out button for like push to talk. i love the suede. are you going to suede the back casing as well? i like fookz idea of EL wire arround it lol. you should stamp your name just under or above the screen like they do into custom car headrests

Haha yeah this thing is gonna be sweet. The back controller piece is gonna get sueded also. Yeah el wire would look pretty sweet.

@Matt, thanks but no thanks matt. Im gonna use a psp joystick for the dpad and tacts for the rest. I was thinking about installing a slider switch to have it play over the headset then be able to switch it to headphones just so i could annoy people lol. I really like the knight rider idea but i think im gonna drill 4 really small holes and just have them back lit by the 0603s.

Alright...fml lol. I had to go buy a new mp3 player just for the screen. I ordered a cuple psp joysticks today so hopefully ill have them in a few days to finishthis beast. Im just using a psp joystick for the dpad. Ill be able to get most of it done by tomorrow and ill have more pics posted tonight.

man that suede looks sick, where are you going to put the psp analog? those things are a pain in the ass to get right, but its all worth it in the end.

Well guys....I have done many many mods and i have to say that this one has probably been one of the most time consuming projects ever. Not only did i have to fiberglass and mold half the shell but i had to relocate every button and joystick and convert the dpad to a psp joystick. Everything is going together pretty good so far but there is TONS!!!!! of wiring in this. I twisted most the wires and it still looks like a rats nest inside. There is a total of 10!!! tacts on the front case, 7 of them belong to the mp3 player and the 3 to the right of the case is the A button and X button and the lower one is for rapid fire. The 4 leds at the top go in knightrider sequence so it looks pretty badass. I sueded the controller backing earlier today and it turned out pretty good. Not as good as the front since there is so much to work around but it looks good. The hole on the left side of the shell is where the psp joystick is getting placed.

for donating the a2d pcb for the psp joystick/dpad mod. I would not be able to do it without that so thanks again
