CG2 Rumble LEDs
« on: September 03, 2012, 08:29:46 PM »
Hey gents,

I have a CG2 controller I am trying to add L/R trigger LEDs in.

My research tells me there isn't a switched power supply, and the workaround for that is the optocoupler. I don't want to purchase this, so I thought I would wire my LEDs to the rumble motors.

When activated, the only LED that flickers is the 1st player on the ROL; nothing on the trigger LEDs.

Anyone know why that is, or what I did wrong?

I am using 1 blue 5mm LED per side, straight to the +/- rumble motor points.

your LED probably requires more than 3v that's why its not lighting up, also If your batteries are low the player LED's will flicker when it vibrates.

Ah, I see. I had no idea that was a standard function. Ok, back to the lab again. Thanks

Also Blue leds require a higher voltage, make sure you use 1.5v AA Batteries (non-rechargeable ones)
