Just found somethin you might wanna look at. Pre-OC'd and watercooled 9800 GTX. The only prob is that they havn't released it yet, but I know it will come out before you buy all your parts. Give it a look, http://www.bfgtech.com/bfge98512gtxh2ocwe.aspx. By they way, all BFGTech vid cards come with a lifetime warranty.

Yeah.but it's 512MB if I went for a 9800 I would want a GX2 with 1GB onboard mem. But thanks for pointing that out, depending on the price I'll consider it.Thanks again

2 9800's in SLI outperform 9800gx2's in some benchmarking testes and with a third 9800 it outperforms the Quad SLI 9800GX2 benchmarking tests with many games. So basically if you're planning to do some hardcore gaming, pick up a 780i motherboard and you could always add extra cards when you get the money. Also two 9800's is roughly the same price as a GX2.

What size monitor are you runnin? I mean I'm getting ready to upgrade to a 22in and my 8800 GTS should handle it with ease. Just remember that the 9800 GTX and the 9800 GX2 have the same memory bus (256-bit). Memory isn't the issue with either card, they should just move up to 512-bit bus and get it overwith, as thats one of the biggest bottlenecks out there. I think SLI would run MUCH smoother at higher resolutions if they did that small tweak with upcoming cards.. I mean look at the GTX and Ultra, both of em have 384-bit memory buses, WHY would they take a step back to 256? I personally think that is the reason the GTX was the beast that it was, and as soon as they make the leap to 512 I think we will have another amazing card on our hands.

I'm going to be running 2 monitors, the one that I have in the first post. Obviously if I had 2/3 way SLI with more then 1 card I can only use 1 monitor with it, right? Or can I use both?

There are ways to run more than one monitor and still use SLI but I don't know how.

I'm pretty sure you can only use one monitor when SLI mode is enabled. But if you want to use more than one just disable the SLI and enable it whenever you want to play a game.

You just have to buy a cheap PCI-E card.

Ok, now I need to figure out a way to do all of this and still get my Wireless adapter in there. So 2x GTXs, and a crap card. Doesn't that mean 1 monitor is using the SLI and the other is using the crap card? That's crap. Hahaha.

Is there a motherbaord that uses DDR2,775 socket, and room for 2 GTX's, 2 PCI cards [sound and wireless] and room for that other crap card too?

EDIT: Nice, I can fit both GTX's, my wireless card, and that other card[that's in the tut] on my motherboard. I'll have to stick with onboard sound, but it's still pretty good and I could always change it in the future.

Looks like its time to get a single card instead of your 9800 GTX's lol.

"GeForce GTX 280 and 260 vs. 9800 GTX SLI
This comparison is quite interesting. The GeForce GTX 260 costs less than GeForce 9800 GTX SLI, and the GTX 280 will cost more. Our gameplay testing though seems to indicate that in some games, like Call of Duty 4 and Assassin’s Creed, the GeForce GTX 260 is able to provide a better gameplay experience than GeForce 9800 GTX SLI. The improved memory specifications here seem to benefit these two games greatly at high resolutions with AA. In Age of Conan the GeForce GTX 260 matches the same gameplay experience as GeForce 9800 GTX SLI. Therefore it is providing the same experience, for less money. The only game where it failed in comparison to GeForce 9800 GTX SLI was Crysis."

GTX 280 (Higher performance) = $649, GTX 260 (Slightly higher in most) = $399, 9800GTX SLI = $540 (cheapest I could find on newegg).
To me it sounds like you decide how much performance you want over the 9800 GTX SLI and pay for one of the cards, then you get keep your dual monitor setup. If you decide you're gonna OC the cards then go with the 260, check out the graph on page 10 lol. Crazy gains by overclockin that card. Just thought I'd give you some more advice before you made the big purchase. :)

If you're still into watercooling then look into this, http://www.bfgtech.com/GTX280h20c.aspx. I'd be willing to bet it will cost over 750 smackers, but if you want the fastest card out that's what you need. OC'd and Watercooled from the factory with a lifetime warranty, so I'd jump on it if I had the money. Or maybe I'd just get 2 standard 260GTX cards then do a nice OC and sli them lol.

I plan on OC'ing a GTX 260. Maybe in the future I'll get 2, but I don't plan on it.
