give me a few suggestions on what you are good at.

like: soldering/dissasembling
and have you ever opened your psp
and have you ever opened another console
and are you willing to pay money for the modding, because things can go wrong and it will cost you money to repair

To all of you crying about lag and kicks, remember… when Jesus died, took him 3 days to respawn. Now THAT is lag.

the USB charge is a real simple mod. It only requires one wire. If you know how to solder, it goes even quicker. If you dont know how to solder though, I made a tut on how to do it without soldering. I'll give you the link if you want.

just dont attempt lights of any kind because they are kinda difficult for a first mod.

Why not start with a CASE change.

No Soldering, no conversion of anything.

Gets you used the the idea of opening the PSP and the layout of the components
working with the connections inside the PSP.

You are not changing the workings of the PSP and you learn to pay very
close attention to detail on taking it apart and putting it back together

That way if something does not work correctly when you put it back together
you know that it is something simple like you did not connect a connector
or put something back where it should be.

Make sure you use a static electricity wrist strap !!!!!!!!

Static from your hands can kill the electronics in the PSP.

yea i agree with gr8npwrfl let him disassemble and learn the parts of the psp before doing any modding to them or else he will be lost if he has never done anything close to this.

You use a static electricity strap... hmm i never use those as long as u are not creating static ur fine.

Face plates are real easy, the only problem you usually have is joystick connections.

If you do a full case change you have to take the entire PSP apart, display, motherboard, power board and wifi board

That will challenge you quite a bit more.

hey i think the best mods you can do are

faceplate
buttons
sound reactive triggers(direct connection)

if you have more experience move on to bigger things

case swaps
light house psp(loads of leds) hehehe
dual nub
internal cam
etc

just take your time and dont rush. practice makes perfection

well i dont think its hard just that its hard for a noob not an intermediate. see im like inbetween intemediate and pro. ive done led mods before and some case things here and there. lol biggest mod ive everdone was taking my psp apart. lol i was scared. also i did some blue trigger kits also

Yea well the first thing i learned when i got my psp is take the whole thing apart and put it back together then when i was searching parts for it and found acidmods i went with the sound reactive LEDs easy cuz i used to solder before i started soldering the psp. The biggest mod i have done is the Speaker one where i came up with my own look as you can see in my signature below.

That is why I suggested and entire case mod first.

Get used to the PSP and where all the parts are and how they connect together.

If you can't deal with the connectors and how fragile they are and how they come apart and go together,
I would be very cautious about changing things inside a PSP.

Everyone that has experience with modding a PSP knows that something very simple like a wire
touching the LCD cage can make the PSP not work.

If you are comfortable with just a complete teardown and reassembly of your PSP.

Gives you confidence with working with your PSP.

Heck you don't even have to put on a custom case. Just tear down your PSP and put it all back together again

Download the Sony firmware onto the root of your PSP and rename it like the install
