not sure what your saying here, but there is a conflict in his diagram compared to the scematic that ships with the 555 i just need to know the correct pin locations that he used

Sillynuts, what type of switch are you using, momentary or a clicky.  If i dont wire in a switch the timer just keeps clicking my trigger, even when im not touching the trigger.  Is something wrong?

im using a mom. switch just with 2 lead grounds so it lets me turn it on and off. and yo man dont ever look at the dirg. on the back of the timer box. you dont need it and it wont work thay way just do like i said follow it word for word and you will get it.

just hook up a norm. mom. switch bro and let it rip

and naw i wasent talking about mikes sleeper im talking about this mike made my mod to show ppl it works good and hes going to vid it for me and post it cuz my radioshack does not have anymore 555cn timers left i done got them all and used them in buddys controllers.

ok in your diagram are we looking at the top or the bottom of the 555? Do you have the part no for the switch you are using and the pcb? Ill try again tomorrow when i hit up radio shack, thanks for your help and hard work dude!

I also used 1/2 watt just like jhyphinwill.  What's the diff between 1k with 1/2 watt and 1k with 1/4 watt?  And could that actually be the difference in it working or not working?

anyone else get this one working yet?  Ive wired this up and i keep getting 1 of 2 things happening.

1. if i wire with a switch then i can get auto fire with a button, not a trigger.

2.  if i wire with out a switch i get auto fire indefinitely with out touching the trigger or anything.

sillynuts i know you have a mom. switch in there on your video, so whats the deal?  Were you firing with your trigger?  or hitting the button.  It appears you were hitting the trigger.  i could be mistaken.

Here the Proof that the SillyNut Diagram Works .. With A switch not thru trigger Still trying to find out
HOw he got the Switch to do on/off thru trigger.

Here The Video Proof : I had to use the only Controller that I could find which was my wifes

ok me and mike are trying to find out how i make it work with the trigger cuz it was an accident all i was trying to do was wire it so when you push the button its rapid fire and when you let off of the button its not. but somewhere i messed with somthing and now when i hit the button it turns on the rapid fire and when you hit your trigger it shoots rapid fire and when you let of its not.

like i said it was an accident that i hooked it up this way but it you hook it up with your 3rd wire for your trigger going to a switch then to the middle pin you do have rapid fire and when you hit the switch it will shoot rapid fire.

as for the 1/2 1/4 res you have to use the 1/4 everything is 1/4  get the right parts like mike and i and it will work you can ask mike i just got off the phone with him it works well and as fast as hes chip (if you have good batteries not power pack) so thanks mike man my radioshack wont have any more chips till thrus. :(

nothing wrong with pink controllers, they work just as good at black/white/green ones and besides, if you take it to a friends to play, you'll likely know which is yours ;)  i got 2 cause they were 19.99, how can you resist!

you the man silly! after 4 attempts finally got it! woot woot! I feel so accomplished, haha I got mikes chips today but still wanted to try your mod. I took pictures along the way, I will post detailed pix in a min. thanks again bro!

Here is a dummy proof Tut. w/Pictures (Not trying to take any credit just trying to make it easier to understand)

All parts are available at RadioShack

1. Mount your 555CN Timer IC (276-1723) to the PC Board I used Grid style (276-150) I cut a piece that was 4 pins down 8 across.

2. Solder jumpers from pin 2 to pin 6, and a jumper from pin 4 to pin 8. Bottom of PCB worked best for me.

3. Solder a 1K Ohm Resistor (271-1339) to pins 7 and 8.

4. Solder .01uf Capacitor (272-1065) to pins 1 and 2.

5. Solder 22K Ohm Resistor (271-1339) to pins 2 and 7.

6. Clean up bottom of board, be sure no contacts are touching from excess solder.

7. Solder lead from pin 1 (-), pin 8 (+), and pin 3.

8. Solder Leads to controller board, and Pushbutton Momentary Switch (275-644) I like the (275-003) easier fit.

And... rapid fire!
*Confirmed Working On both old and new wireless models.

Asuming you have solder and wire this mod can be done for just under $10.00 from RadioShack

Thanks to Sillynuts for his findings, hopefully soon we will be able to sleeper with this mod.

sorry about posting agin but i found somthing when me and mike was trying to find out how i did the lil button missup

some how i made my remote put out more volts or somthing but my volt meter dont lie.
now doing this will drain batteries faster but its worth it as you can see in the start of the vid i had to put in new batteries
the out come is the rapid fire shoots faster and with less recoil i have no clue y another missup that turned out good.
that is the only way i know how to put it .
