Well, that's really all up to DAX in the end, he's the mastermind behind all of the psp hacking and cfw.
He'll prevail eventually, nothing's completely unhackable. :taunt:

And, I plan on getting this too. But, probably not until around Christmas or March(Birthday), as I just blew $120 on a stupid printer 'cuz mine died... =[
Hopefully it'll be hacked by then.

For me is not worth buying at this time. My reason is because it looks so much like a psp slim, there isn't to much a major difference between the slim and the psp 3000. I already have a slim and a phat. In order for me to buy another psp, there's got to be extreme changes and differences. For an example, full touch screen interface, internal hard drive, full GPS functionality, built in keyboard for quick texting, more compact and versatile in size, ect...For now the psp 3000 remains as a direct replica of the slim with only (minor) changes.

That would be loads of fun having to wipe down your screen every time youre ready to play a game

I don't think its worth it if you already own a psp. Unless of course youre ready to sell your older model.

Scratch what i said before... play.com has it for £140.

That's $245 to you americans.
And €180 to you Continental Europeans.

Damn us Europeans do nothing but lose out.

IMO, not at all. Not worth either the $170 or the effort of selling your Slim and paying another $50-$70. Stay away.

get it. i read on PSP-Hacks that they are packing TA-90 motherboards. BUT quoting the article:

According to Alek the new PSP-3000, well at least the first round of manufactured units, is actually equipped with a TA-090 motherboard — not the TA-88v3 you’ve read about. So if you have recently purchased the PSP-3000, there is still hope for complete hackability.

But wait a minute… Doesn’t the PSP-2000 (Slim) use the TA-090 motherboard? Yes, it does. Unfortunately Sony has introduced new protection for the PSP-3000. The good news: developers are taking a crack at it. We’ll keep you posted.

also, there is a decrypter for 5.00 firmware. i put it on my phat and its pretty nice...

This is the type of answer I was looking for. I have a White Version from Japan. Its the original 1007 model, so I guess it is the Phat version everyone here calls it. I'm new to this forum...

My question is, I had read a while ago that the 1007 model sold in Asia has the better LCD than the version sold in the US. The better version was maybe made by Panasonic vs another manufacture.

So that being the case, I also read the 3000 version has a brighter and better LCD screen. Does this mean they are now selling the US version 3000 model with the same LCD they sold in Asia for the 1000 model? Or is this a worthless question cause they maybe changed types of LCD's when they came out with the 2000 slim version?

I mostly only use my PSP for watching movies I convert to MP4 on my flights. I rarely play games with it anymore.

So that being said, is it worth it for me to upgrade? I'd have to sell my 1007 first.

i also though the asian versions of the psp had a better screen but from what i have learned they don't. i had a jap blue phat and compared it so a UK version and there was no difference what so ever. i'd be very surprised if the jap 3000 has a better screen than the US or euro psps.

Well one gain right off the bat is that it is slimmer. Does anyone know the weight difference or the height difference?

I also read that Sony will be releasing an extended life battery good for 10 hours of game play. Has anyone had any actual experience with it yet?
