Which Glue (And more...)

Im in a bit of a situation, ive got a PSP here, ive spent days getting the case (I had to paint it) and much more stuff. Ive pretty much got everything ready, just need to know now which glue to use

Epoxy? Nowhere near precise enough, since Im putting it between all the action buttons

Hot glue? Really pisses me off, since it melts just from LED heat (when using 100ohms resistor?)

Super Glue? If i made a mistake? Also, the tubes on the capsules gets blocked after first use















And...

Which is the contact I need to connect it to on the wifi switch, to ground the LEDs? Also could I use the wifi switch ground as a ground for the 3.6v point on the powerboard?

Since all the diagrams showing how to wire it, doesnt say exactly which switch it is, when I ask them, people have an argument whether its top or buttom, I just want my Wifi ALWAYS on, and the leds controlable by the wifi switch

EDIT: Oh yeah, if I bought one of those cheap air compressors, for pumping tyres for cars, could I use it as an air duster, i use air dusters alot (clean dust off psp when closing), and its costing me a fortune, they are about £10 a can here, and I go through about two a month. Now, one of those air compressors cost about twice the price of an air duster, should I get one instead of wasting my money, or would it be not powerful enough/actually putting most dust on it/stupid?

First thing...I never use super glue to place leds...NEVER
It is conductive and will short out anything it is put on
I always use hot glue ( my glue never melts )

Yes you can use it with any positive you use


You bridge the two pins on the top so that wifi is always on (side opposite the actual switch)

The LED's shouldn't melt the glue. If it does it getting to much voltage.. I don't recommend using superglue either makes a mess..

I don't know about a small compressor, but i have a big one that is really powerful. Id imagine it would work with the correct nozzle.

What about hot glue, how 'permenant' is it? As id like it to be permenant, but precise at the same time

I really dislike hot glue, so viscous and you can pull it right off with no effort.

I would use hot glue. It's gonna be on the inside so what does it matter if you can pull it off.

does vibrations have any effect on it

for example, this holiday, i took a 20 hour flight (well, 15 hours, then 5 hour flight), back and forth, so that means 40 hours of flight vibrations (in an A380, very loud) and then, the roads of mindanao are very tretruois (or however you spell it), they are more of dirt paths with lots of stones on it, and when you do reach a road, its very bumpy anyway, and the hotglue pretty much got shattered when I returned to london, I opened it up since one of the leds stoped working and I wanted to find out why, turns out the vibrations shattered the hot glue, and even the solder joints?

The solder joints weren't good enough. Sometimes it happens to me to.

I bought some epoxy *Adriliate* (or whatever it is) and I bought some special precise cases for it (these bottole things with very very prescise needles on the end)

Is it ok to put a slight amount of hot glue on the LED, and once its perfect, keep it there permenantly by covering it in epoxy

And what sort of surface does epoxy have? Is it brittle? Soft like silocone?

Crazy glue is awesome stuff, you can make wiring into a work of art with it, look at davbere's wii d2ckey instals

alien what kind of crazyglue do you use i bought one its real crazy glue but it takes like 5 mins to dry

Also, i managed to snag a bargain, got a photofast thingy (forgot what they are called lol), for about a fiver, its working fine on the slim i tried it on, not yet on the phat, just wanted to know, it works on the phat right? I was thinking of making it internal, also is there a pin on the memory sticks that could turn it on and off (so i can turn the photofast off, and put in a proper memory stick)

How'd you get a photofast for 5 bucks!? Anyway, I think it works on a phat, but it's harder to make it internal due to the fact that the cable needs to be flipped around, etc. As for putting a switch on a pin, I was told that to disable USB you put a switch on the data+ pin, so I would assume the same for a ms pro duo... Just an assumption though.

just solder it directly to the pins on the memorycard slot and do as justin said
