WTF!?!?!?!
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:32:59 PM »
hey, i opened my wiimote today to add an led on the A and B buttons today and tey works , put the  wiimote back-together and it was still working.. then i left it on my desk, went out and came back to find it in bits... i asked everyone in my family about it and noone admited it and now the remote doesnt work... when i press a button the 4 lights at the bottom dont flash. what could have caused this?? i can get pics if you need?

It shorted out, you'll need to bridge the fuse that's to the left-middle of the 1 and 2 buttons. Should be perfectly fine afterwards, but if it shorts again then I'm fairly sure you're screwed.

That's what I have bridged on my clear led modded wiimote.
Just solder a wire from one side to the other.

That's your battery level. The number of leds that light up depend on the batteries.
0-25% is 1 led, 26-50% is 2 leds, 51-75% is 3 leds, and 76-100% is 4 leds. Of course, it's an approximation.

Hot glue won't bridge it. Put new batteries in and test it out, I'm sure it will be fine. If not, hey at least you have a working controller again now.

Yeah that's a good idea. I thought you meant to bridge it.

you could, but you shouldnt have used a very big piece of wire, so you really shouldnt have to worry about it, just remember if the fuse does come unbridged and you glued it, its going to be a :censored: to fix.

If it's an unmodded controller and you've tried replacing the batteries, then yeah kinda.

They don't light up at ALL?
But, the controller works fine?
What I would do is just use it as a spare controller, or take the initiative and try replacing the leds and check for fried resistors around the leds.

Cool glad I could help
