Wierd Headset problem.

I was playing Cod5 today and a few of my friends joined and I plugged in my headset and heard the power come on in the speaker, then the little speaker showed up on the screen for a few seconds and shut off. I could plug in and unplug and it would keep doing that. But if I shut my controller off and turned it back on it was fine. Also if I rebooted the 360 it worked fine. I have two Wireless controllers and both did it. Any ideas?

sounds like you have a short in the wired headset. right where it comes out of the plug is where I usually find my troubles. buy wireless
