Non-Intrustive PSP 2nd Nub [WIP] using Remote

Hey all,

I'm a bit new when it comes to modding PSPs, but I'm not completely useless, so listen up!

I had a great idea that I don't think has been done before. A non intrusive 2nd nub using the PSP remote.

Using a program called PSPRemap, I can remap the buttons on the remote to /\ [] O X.

Then I can fix on a razor x between that and a second nub and voila, a second nub through the serial port.

Can anybody think of a reason why this wouldn't work, if not, then I think I'll order that razor X and PSP nub

thats a really good idea, i dont see any reason it wont work. 

but just one thing it may be a little weird to use unless you make some sort of rig that keeps it secure while your using it, you know so it doesnt wiggle away while your pressing it.

also you may not have heard of this but there is another analog solution other than the razor-x, the sony ericson analog stick form this tutorial is very responsive, centers itself after being pressed, and is all in one and doesnt require any extra assembly.

Yes it I see would be awkward to hold, I think I'll build a similar "grip" to what Ben Heck built when he did an external PSP joystick over at engadget - http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/24/how-to-craft-an-analog-control-stick-for-your-sony-psp-part-2/

That sony ericson thing looks interesting, not sure how easy it would be to get my hands on one of them though....

i ordered one from ebay about 2 weeks ago, it came in about a week, it came way quicker than the razor-x i ordered from cool mods

I got a question about it for you about the sony ericsson joystick mod, since you've made one:
Does it slide like the original PSP nub or does "click" into the 8 angles like on the phones... as that doesn't seem as useful for FPS gaming as the analog nature of the original PSP nub.

it doesnt realy click, but it defianetly doesnt slide either, its rather touchy at first and requires just a little bit of getting used to but after about twenty minutes of training your thumb it works very well, the only gripe any body could have is that it is very sensitive, but other than that it works flawlessly and feels relatvely natrual
