Okay, so after going through my SECOND pair of

up psp buttons, I need to know. Is it possible to get a set that even works? I'm looking for either red or blue, it doesn't matter either way. I just need to find a set that works. BTW, if it matters, I'm using an asterix faceplate.

there are a few good sets out there and some that are bad that just need some touch ups may i ask how there bad? is it hard to press them? or wont fit in right?

because i get all my button set from ebay so im never sure what company actualy makes them i cant really tell ya a good brand but i once got a set that just didnt fit right, all of them were a bit shakey and loose(which doesnt bother me much) except O which was to thick for some reason and hard to press. but after some sanding to the bottom of the button it was fine, turned out it just had some excess plastic around the edge of it so it wouldnt pres the contact pad down.

All of the home bar buttons are too large, and the bar itself is too short. The circle button only contacts like 1/2 the time, the square button and the triangle button don't press down, and the d-pad is so :censored:ing wiggly that it can turn at a 45 degree angle to the normal space it fits. these buttons piss me off. I tried sanding the bottoms and the sides of all of them, but it didn't work.

Maybe sanding the bottom is why there is no contact, and sanding the sides makes it wiggle around... If it's fitting loosely you're not supposed to sand it even more.

Only the d-pad is wiggly, everything else is still way too tight. And It wasn't making even before sanding. and also, the buttons are P.O.S.'s because there is only a layer of cheap paint over a clear body. I got them from DealExtreme, if you're wondering.

I usually don't have that much trouble with DX buttons
If you have done a faceplate or case swap, are you sure that it isn't the faceplate that is messed up?

Nope, Tried it with my stock faceplate, no dice. And I actually have a 40 dollar asterix plate, which is like 100% perfect.

Well, My idea failed miserably.
I would try getting buttons from another source this time.

Yea asterix faceplates are flawless. I would buy buttons from coolmods as they are pretty reliable for good quality.

but they look exactly the same as the DX ones... Aren't they the same?

Yea they are similar in looks, but at DX there products are of a low standard and you sometimes get buttons that won't fit and little imperfections like that. Whereas at coolmods it's pretty much guaranteed to be perfect.

Just so you know CoolMods isn't that good when it comes to quality... I can't stand my 30 dollar faceplate. Used it for like an hour and I had to switch back. Not bashing them or anything, I know that imperfections do exist, but just telling you not to get your hopes up.

Well it beats DX by a long shot so yea. If you want the most reliable then coolmods is the place to go.

All the places I've seen are out of stock and I don't think there is being any more made =\

Yeah just get the coolmods ones.

Also, I'm just throwing this out there, but you could try molding your own buttons. If you know what your doing, they can turn out pretty nice. A guy on here did it for his 360 controler using the OEM buttons as the mold. They turned out pretty nice. Just minor touch-ups to make 'em fit.

Lies. They work just like the stock faceplate with all buttons. Plus, it matches my custom paint

. It is 100% amazing, and because I have OCD, the matte finish is amazing. But they do have custom buttons.
