sound reactive LED's gone wrong!!!
« on: February 15, 2009, 06:22:31 AM »
Okay heres the deal....       I was gonna do sound reactive LED's in my UMD door "Ring of Light"
So I went to radioshack and bought 2 red LED's and a small box of 2n2222 transistors...
I went home and wanted to see how bright the LED's are, so I opened up my UMD door and connected the leads straight to the speaker wires. (I already did a speaker mod in my UMD door).
It flashed brightly when I connected It and I played a song... I was satisfied, so I disconnected the LED and flipped my psp back over to the screen because I was going to see where to put the transistor on a tutorial,  Then all three of my speakers stopped working...
I think I fried my mobo somehow...   Is there a way I can fix it??
I can't afford a new mobo, So please help! :beg:

You'll probably get way more help if you post this in the PSP section. But that doesn't sound too good to me. Maybe a short in the metal of the UMD door?
It's the basics that bring us down.

However today I was brutally raped by a door handle, and none of my friends helped me up off the floor after ten minutes, instead they all teabaged me, all 10 of them...

Same thing happened to me I just replaced the original speakers with small headphones I took apart and wired the headphone plug out of the psp.
