Flashed 360
« on: February 26, 2009, 09:25:47 PM »
I can't decide whether or not to flash my 360.

Im under the impression that flashing will make it able to play any iso's i have.
Will i need to purchase a hard copy of any games i want to play online?

Does anybody have reliable tutorial/link that can help me?

Or just some general info that will help?

Playing online with a copied game may get you banned if the copy is ripped bad. First, if you want to flash your drive, you would need to find out what drive you have.

Yes you will need to own a hard copy of the game in order to be (only in certain countries) allowed to copy the disc for the purposes of backup

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

what we are trying to say is that any discussion of making backups that you do not own, will get this topic shut down.  Burning ISOs that you do not own is stealing and stealing is not cool at Acidmods.

yea yea yea, my x360 library is huuuuge. so no worries there

im just saying....i dont know what the conditions of playing isos vs. hard copies.

The conclusions i draw are:
-isos are playable offline and function 100% as if theyre real hard copies
-if i wanna play online(e.g.  multiplayer), i need to use my hard copy

yup it is moddable, havnt done it myself but google tells me u can.  As far as I know, most backups should be playable just as if it was the original, on live or not.  I know several people that play backups online without incident.  People dont use them on live because of the fear of being caught and permanently banned from live as it violates the TOU.  Personally I dont think it matters whether you play originals on a modded box or the copies, you will still be at risk of being banned regardless since the DVD firmware is modded.

Maybe someone knows of a reason why playing backups on live makes the risk of being banned greater then using the original?
EDIT: PSP339 already answered my question, guess it depends on how well the ISO has been ripped.

I have the same drive. Easy to mod, i've done it to mine. Best method is DOSFLASH method.

I have the same drive. The easiest method is using jungle flasher. I did mine for the time in less than 5 min.
